GENaustin's first Executive Director, Anita Mennucci (class of 94-
95) is stepping down as Executive Director to practice girl
empowerment directly with her daughters, Olivia (3) and Giada (9
months). Anita is looking forward to finding part-time consulting
work. Anita is also currently recruiting for her replacement.
GENaustin is a 10-year old girl empowerment agency that fosters
healthy self-esteem in girls through dynamic programming in the
central Texas area and is beginning to market products nationwide.
Candidates with a strong background in business and/or non-profit
management, fundraising, policy development, marketing, board
relations, program development, and human resources are encouraged
to apply. A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required.

Job Description
Leadership
x serve as Chief Executive Officer of GENaustin, reporting to
the Board of Directors;
x with the President of the Board, enable the Board of
Directors to fulfill their governance function, and facilitate the
optimum interaction between management and the Board of Directors;
x give direction and leadership to the formulation and
achievement of the GENaustin's philosophy, mission, and strategy,
objectives, and goals;
x be responsible for GENaustin's consistent achievement of its
missions and financial objectives;
x make certain that GENaustin's philosophy and mission
statements are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization;
x see that the Board and the President are kept fully informed
on the condition of GENaustin and on all important factors
influencing it; and
x assure that GENaustin has a long-range strategy that
achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and
timely progress.
Fundraising/Resource development
x ensure the GENaustin reserve always contains between 6 and
12 months of funding;
x optimize fund raising efforts by focusing on fewer, higher
dollar sources and activities; and
x strive for higher success rate with grant acceptances.
Human Resources
x hire and oversee all staff;
x recruit board members and key volunteers;
x recommend the composition of the Board and committees;
x ensure an effective management team with provision for
succession is in place;
x ensure that personnel training, development, and recognition
plans are in place that will provide the human resources necessary
for the achievement of the GENaustin's mission;
x maintain a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates top
quality people – both paid and volunteer; and
x formulate and administer all major policies.
Program development
x drive the effort to execute clubGEN, Speaker Series, and
workshops;
x leverage relationships with other organizations to expand
GENaustin's reach; and
x monitor the committees to ensure their structures are
working effectively.
Public and Community Relations/Communications
x serve as the leading public persona and spokesperson for
GENaustin and thereby ensure that GENaustin is properly presented to
its various publics;
x increase awareness of and support for GENaustin in the
media, at events, among the community, and among higher dollar
funding sources in the community;
x network with businesses and community organizations to form
strategic partnerships; and
Office/Operations Management
x drive an effort to establish improved databases and computer
infrastructure;
x oversee day-to-day office operations; and
x secure facility and office equipment.
Fiscal Oversight
x oversee budget development and management;
x capitalize on opportunities for in-kind donations;
x implement cost-saving techniques to decrease expenses;
x drive organization to capitalize on existing programs and
products to raise revenues; and
x make certain that the flow of funds enables GENaustin to
make steady progress towards the achievement of its mission and that
those funds are allocated properly.
