1. KEYBOARD PLAYER GONZALO CARRERA JOINS LANDMARQ
==================================================
Landmarq are pleased to announce the arrival of Gonzalo Carrera
as the band's new keyboard player. For the last three years, Gonzalo
has been the keyboard player for 'Yes' tribute band, 'Fragile'.
(See below for a brief biography on Gonzalo).

Tracy Hitchings: "...As much as we will miss Steve, we knew it was
important to find a replacement as soon as possible but didn't think
we would be fortunate in finding a suitable player so quickly.
We have a great deal to do in bringing Gonzalo 'up to speed' with
both old and new material, but he is raring to go and we're looking
forward to continuing our plans for world domination (haha!)..."

Welcome, Gonzalo!

2. SO WHO DOES GONZALO CARRERA THINK HE IS? (apologies to 'Q'
magazine)
==================================================
(Señor) Gonzalo Carrera is from the north-western area of Spain
and has studied jazz and modern harmony. An admirer of classic
progressive band's such as Jethro Tull, Genesis and Yes, he formed
his first band, the award winning 'Madeleine Green'.
In 1992, Gonzalo moved to Madrid and joined established prog band
'Galadriel', with whom he recorded two albums (Musea).

He made the move to the UK in 1996 and played various styles of
music including a stint with soul singer Angie Brown.
Following an approach from Clive Bunker and Glenn Cornick, Gonzalo
joined the ex-Jethro Tull members in their new project called 'Oak'.
The band undertook a tour during 1998, culminating in an appearance
at a Jethro Tull convention in Northern Italy.

On his return to the UK in 1999, Gonzalo met up with ex-Quasar
bassist Keith Turner. Keith had teamed up with ex-Enid band member,
Nick May, and they invited Gonzalo to join them.
However, at the same time he also learned that a 'Yes' tribute band
(Fragile') were looking for a new keyboard player and as a life-long
'Yes fan', Gonzalo joined 'Fragile' for some extensive touring both
in the UK and Europe.

In December 1999, Gonzalo also recorded a CD with drummer Les
Binks (Roger Glover, Judas Priest, Ray Gomez and Steve Lukather). In
fact, Les saw Gonzalo's first gig with 'Fragile' at the Bull's head
in Barnes, west London, and was suitably impressed!
Then in April 2000, Gonzalo was working with Tony Ciniglio (ex-bass
player for 'Cafe Racers', Mark Knopfler). Through Tony, Gonzalo met
Huw Lloyd-Langton, guitarist for Hawkwind, Leo Sayer, Ginger Baker.
Huw invited Gonzalo to join him for his regular Sunday night
residency slot in West Kensington, London.

Further details and a full Gonzalo discography will be added to the
Landmarq website in the very near future.

3. WEBSITE UPDATE
==================================================
The website has undergone some minor tweaking and there will also be
the addition of pages for Gonzalo (discography, etc.) over the next
week or so. While we're on the subject, we're always pleased to hear
from anyone with comments, suggestions (polite ones, please!) or
requests relating to the website or Landmarq in general.

==================================================
4. POLL UPDATE
==================================================
Thanks to all those who have so far taken part in the Landmarq Poll
('Do you play an instrument?'...) currently running on the home page.
Results have been rather interesting (though not too unexpected) in
that many of you out there are players in one way or another.
Naturally, guitarists seem to be 'hogging the limelight'!
Now there's a surprise! ;)

Cheers for now,

L A N D M A R Q
