Recaps from Fire Eater Wizard...

On The Metallic Onslaught: The show began a couple hours late last week, and
this coming week will not be on at all. Shoebox was, as always, not there,
apparently because the poor baby had a case of the sniffles. And although
there will be no show for him to be at this week, I'd say if there were one,
it would be a pretty safe bet that he would not be there, as Friday October
15th is the day we have all been fearing...The day he is due to procreate,
so, I think he might be busy that day..Although, wouldn't it be cool if he
did it on the air??! Hey, if it's good enough for Good Morning America, to
have someone give birth on the air, then surely why not MO?! Can you think
of a safer place for a baby to come into the world?? With Jeffie present to
make sure it all went fine? What more could you ask for? Everyone else was
present, and, as was the case with The Last Exit the week before, it was
announced that this would be the season finale of The Metallic Onslaught,
and when they return in 2 weeks, it will be their season premier...It was
also, as promised last week, Jeffie Appreciation Day...Jeffie arrived very
excited about his day. They at first tried to make a pretense of liking and
being nice to him, but kept lapsing into insulting him and threatening to
beat him up. They played several clips of memorable Jeffie moments from the
past throughout the night (although these were actually things that had
happened to previous versions of Jeffie, he does have all their memories,
so, in a way, it is his past and life as well). The first clip was one in
which Jeffie rubbed his butt up against Lance, and then got beaten up badly
by Lance.. Jeffie enjoyed the memory, (well, the part about rubbing his butt
against Lance, not the rest of it), so much that he decided to repeat it.
This lead to a fight between him and Lance. Later, Jeffie decided to turn
out the lights and cuddle with Joe. Joe resisted this, but Jeffie held him
on his lap and was bouncing him on his knee, like playing horsey..This went
on for quite a while, but Joe finally got free of Jeffie's clutches. Then,
after another clip was played in which Lance had once again beaten Jeffie
up, Jeffie told Lance that he was going to get even with him for all his
prior abuse.. Jeffie attacked Lance. They brawled. The others could not see
what was going on, only hear it. There were many very brutal sounding
crashes, and they were all sure that Lance was destroying Jeffie.. However,
when things became quiet again, Jeffie emerged looking relatively unscathed,
and Lance was nowhere to be seen. They kept asking Jeffie what had happened
and what he had done to and/or with Lance, but Jeffie just kept saying that
it was all taken care of, and that there was no need to discuss the matter
any further. At the next talk break, Lance was still missing, and Jeffie was
still refusing to talk about it. Then the phone rang. At first they could
hear nothing on the line, then, a far away sounding and unintelligible voice
could be heard.. Jeffie said that there was something that needed to be
taken care of right away, and bolted from the room and up the stairs. They
were all still puzzled and dismayed to see that apparently Jeffie can go
upstairs now. They kept trying to talk to the voice on the phone, and
finally figured out that it was Lance. Then Jeffie could be heard yelling
and trying to make Lance hang up the phone. A moment later, Jeffie came
flying down the stairs, followed by Lance...They had been fighting, and
Lance threw Jeffie down the stairs. They tried to ask Lance what had
happened and where he had been, but Lance said that he didn't want to think
or talk about it. Then, they played one final clip of a memorable Jeffie
moment. The one where Jeffie version 1 was brutally beaten down and killed,
and where then Lance kept singing joyfully "Ding Dong The Jeff Is Dead" over
and over again...When this was over, another brawl ensued between Jeffie and
everyone else. They said that it was time for Lance to take Jeffie away
somewhere...The show ended with a brawl still in progress, and Jeffie asking
Lance where they were going...So, we will have to wait for the season
premier in one week to see what happens...

On The Last Exit: It was the long awaited (one week) season premier. When we
last heard from the gang on the season finale, they were apparently being
dragged away by a horrible monster. However, evidently the horrible monster
just let them go quickly with no damage (but, then again, how could one
really tell if any of them were damaged? how would you notice?) The show had
many people on it this week. Co-host David was absent again. Well, he was
there for two whole weeks in a row, what more do you want?! And, now he was
back in New Jersey for some unfathomable reason. But Gorgar was there. As
was Fritz, and Just Joe. Also there was Tim from Victory Records, Dan and
Jamie (periodic guests and old co-hosts), and Crow, the drummer from the
band The Pushrods (Lance had apparently said he would be there as well, but
then did not show up). I said in my recap last week to tune in and see what
stupid thing Just Joe would do next, and, of course, he did not disappoint.
It seems he tried to order some chicken wings, and apparently instead of
ordering six dozen wings like any normal person would do, he ordered six
pounds of chicken wings! Well, ok, granted, maybe Shoebox could eat that
much, but no one else. Chalk another one up to Just Joe's long and ever
growing list of stupidity. Then Just Joe had lots of confrontations with
Tim, Dan, Jamie, and Crow. Hugging them, molesting them, and being molested
and/or attacked by them. However, he did get to carry Jamie around which he
enjoyed a great deal. I don't know how much she enjoyed it though. After
Tim, Dan, and Jamie had left (after about half the show), the rest of the
night consisted of Azkath and Crow giving Just Joe many more brutal beatings
with a chair and other weapons...It was quite a full and crowded season
premier with much violence and silliness...

************************************************************
Upcoming Stuff and News from Azkath..

Ok, no Metallic Onslaught this week. Instead the station will be covered in
Jelly Beans which will be cleaned up by next week. That will, indeed, be
the season premier of The Metallic Onslaught. As far as I know, Shoebox may
have a little 'Box sometime today. Scary, I know. But as scary as it may
seem to us, just consider his wife now has two children to take care of...
Hey, but you know, you can go help them out by buying his latest CD at
www.wormquartet.com if you haven't already! :)

And since The Metallic Onslaught is not on, you could always go down to The
Haunt and watch Pile of Heads, Endface, Haloburn, and Magnethead. It's only
$5, I will be there, and it is there CD release show. It will be... Fun.

Ok, other stuff, not sure what will happen on The Last Exit this week, I
have a bunch of possible guests, but nothing confirmed. We will be giving
away some stuff, like new Shadows Fall CD and the new Danzig CD. How many
will depend on how much of a response we get... He he he... Um, anyways, I
have now upload, as promised a few weeks ago, the latest Best of CD, Volume
32, you can go download the whole thing for free in our 'Free Downloads and
Merch' section.

And now, the other thing that I mentioned briefly before, our DVD project,
which I just realized, has yet to be named. Suggestions anyone? Anyway,
the line-up for Volume One looks something like this... Crisis, Nocturne,
The Pushrods, If Man is Five, Lotus Project, The Witching, River Chicken,
and co-hosted by Shoebox of Worm Quartet. Also looking to throw in a couple
of bonus things here and there. All in all, it will be over 90 minutes of
quality music and interviews on DVD. There will be exclusive live
performances from everyone, and a couple of videos. The goal is to put this
out at cost to us, which is like $3 or $4, so you will be able to get a copy
cheap. Plus we will be giving a bunch of them away. AND tentatively, we
have a DVD Release Party scheduled for Sunday, November 21st at Castaways,
with, also tentatively, Worm Quartet, Lotus Project, The Pushrods, Divinity
Destroyed, and hopefully The Witching headlining. If this happens, it will
be one hell of a show. All of this is yet to be confirmed 100% though, so we
will see what really comes of all of this. In some form all of this will
come to fruition though, it's just the details that need to be worked out.
If this one goes well, there will be a volume 2, so you support will count.
This is a way to support local music and national music and get a whole lot
of cool stuff for very little money...

Oh, and in Pushrods news, they will have their song "You're Lucky I Don't
Have a Gun" featured on an indie movie, you can learn more about that here -

Music News provided by GorGar

In a recent interview with BW&BK about his new project JON OLIVA'S PAIN,
SAVATAGE frontman/founder Jon Oliva explained why the long awaited follow-up
to the band's 2001 album Poets And Madmen hasn't surfaced. "Savatage has
been together for 23 years, all the guys in the band except for me play with
the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, I write for TSO, and unfortunately Savatage
has taken a back seat to that. It's for business reasons mainly, because you
don't take something that's selling out Madison Square Garden and 18,000
seat arenas and crush it over a band that sells 100,000 records. That's
common sense, and Savatage can go on as long as the guys want to make
records. We're planning on doing something for the 25th Anniversary of the
band, which falls in 2007. We've been compiling video footage and I've been
working on material, so we're just going to see what happens. But, that's
still a couple years away, and in the meantime I want to go out and play. I
don't want to sit around and get old, which is why I came up with Jon
Oliva's Pain. I figure that if it takes two or three years to get another
Savatage record out it's not gonna matter because I'll still be doing stuff
that makes me happy." The Jon Oliva's Pain debut, 'Tage Mahal, will be
released on October 25th through SPV. Savatage guitarist Chris Caffery
released his solo debut Faces / God Damn War on September 24th.

Two songs from IRON MAIDEN - 'Aces High' and 'The Trooper' - have been
included on a new compilation issued by Sony Music called Heavy Dance, which
features several well known, loved and respected rock and metal classics
re-worked as dance tunes. The track list is as follows: 'Livin' On A
Prayer', 'Jump', 'The Trooper', 'Up Around The Bend', 'Aces High', 'You Give
Love A Bad Name', 'We Rock', 'Thunderstruck', 'Lick It Up', 'You Shook Me
All Night Long', 'Out In The Fields', 'Bark At The Moon', 'Ace Of Spades',
'We're Not Gonna Take It' and 'The Final Countdown'. Audio samples can be
found at www.sonymusic.co.uk.

(THIS IS JUST WRONG!! -GORGAR)

In light of the recent suggestion that German metallers PRIMAL FEAR would be
changing course, BW&BK contacted Mat Sinner for an explanation. "Don't
worry," begins the bassist, "the line up is very happy together and we
really looking forward to recording the album of our career. We will produce
the new album this time in the US or Canada, with a very up to date and well
known guy. All or nothing this time and all hell breaks lose! We will change
the style of the cover artwork, but there will still be the eagle. We will
renew the style of band and that we be a nice surprise to some people, but
no pop or black metal - I promise!" BW&BK will see Herr Sinner in person in
the coming weeks and see if they can't loosen his tongue even further. Stay
tuned for updates as they become available.

SPV, the label for JON OLIVA'S PAIN - featuring SAVATAGE frontman Jon
Oliva - has posted audio samples of all 13 tracks from the upcoming album,
'Tage Mahal, at www.spv.de. The album will be released on October 25th. The
track list for 'Tage Mahal is as follows: 'The Dark', 'People Say - Gimme
Some Hell', 'Guardian Of Forever', 'Slipping Away', 'Walk Alone', 'The Non
Sensible Ravings Of The Lunatic Mind', 'No escape', 'Father, Son, 'Holy
Ghost', 'All The Time', 'Nowhere To Run', 'Pain', Outside The Door' and 'Fly
Away'. The 2004/2005 touring schedule for Jon Oliva's Pain is currently
being drawn up and is expected to be confirmed soon. In a recent interview
with BW&BK, Oliva hinted at the possibility of the band going out on the
road in Europe with Savatage guitarist Chris Caffery, who recently released
his own solo album entitled Faces/God Damn War. "We've been discussing the
possibility of going out together," says Oliva. "Obviously it would be a
natural thing to do, and it would be a great show, and we're looking into it
for Europe. We'll see what happens, but I would not doubt that it'll
happen."

WILDSIDE'S WASTED YEARS FIND THEIR WAY TO CD:
WildSide has inked a deal with RLS Records. Their 3rd disc The Wasted Years
has an official street date of October 12th. The 14 track release includes
various demos, a few live tracks and B-sides that did not make their 1992
Capitol Records debut Under the Influence. WildSide rose from the streets of
Hollywood, and looked to have a lot of things on their side, but like many
others, fell victim to the grunge wave. The band had played the circuit in
various forms and eventually caught the eye of Barry Levine (Kiss, Motley
Crue) who went on to manage the group.
UTI was produced by Andy Johns (Led Zepplin), was recorded at Eddie Van
Halen's home studio (5150) and they even did some co-writes. The Clock
Strikes (live version) which appears on The Wasted Years was penned with
Paul Stanley (Kiss). Another stand out track Crash Diet sounds very Guns n'
Roses like, and it should, it was an Axl Rose co-write with the late great
song writer Wes Arkeen. Growing up in the valley guitarist Brent Woods took
lessons from the late great Randy Rhoades (Ozzy/Quiet Riot) and his ripping
skills show those lessons paid off. Woods had also done several years as the
Lead Guitarist in The Vince Neil Band during the WildSide downtime. The band
also released WildSide Wildside on TNT Records in 1995.
They have reunited with 4/5 of the original line-up. Drew Hannah (vocals),
Brent Woods (guitars), Marc Simon (bass) and Jimmy Darby (drums) will do
select re-union dates this fall. At press time they are scheduled to play
Salt Lake City, Utah October 22nd & 23rd.
The Wasted Years - track Listing: Sintro . Hemi-Cuda . Easy as 1,2,3 . Crash
Diet . City of Love . Dance - Swing . Sweet Little Sinner . Just Another
Night (Demo) . Makin' You Bleed . Killing Machine . Hair of the Dog (Demo) .
Kiss This Love Goodbye (Demo) . Dear God (Live @ Whisky-a-Go-Go) . The Clock
Strikes (Live @ Summerfest-Milw.WI

HAREM SCAREM'S NEXT ALBUM SET TO BE HEAVIER AND MORE TECHNICAL!:
I caught up with Harem Scarem's Harry Hess this morning to chat about a few
things. Harry is currently finishing up work on former Harem Scarem drummer
Darren Smith's solo record. News on that shortly.
But my main interest today was in what we could expect from the next Harem
Scarem album, writing and recording of which is already underway.
Harry is actually pretty excited about this release. He says he liked the
Higher album, but really prefers Weight Of The World and can see something
more in line that direction. And while the band never really writes or
records the same album twice, Harry sees this next record getting much
heavier and says it will be a more technical and complex record, with lots
of heavy riffing. Pete has apparently been working with some new gear and
will have a slightly different guitar sound too.
To summarize Harry says the band is "...really going out of their way to
create something stunning..."
The guys expect to have recording finished by the end of January 2005.

MOTLEY CRUE ARE BACK:
Metal Hammer Magazine in the UK have scooped Motley Crue at their own
announcement - releasing first details of a re-union tour that will see the
classic line-up of Nikki Sixx (bass), Tommy Lee (drums), Vince Neil (vocals)
and Mick Mars (guitar) together again.
The magazine announced via their website UK tour plans for mid-2005. The
dates are:
Jun. 14 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Jun. 15 - Manchester, UK @ MEN
Jun. 17 - Cardiff, UK @ Int'l Arena
Jun. 18 - Birmingham, UK @ NEC
Jun. 19 - Wembley, UK @ Arena

I smell like ~, who is the smaller of my two cats,
because she was climbing me earlier. Unfortunately,
~ often smells horrible, because cats clean themselves
with their tongues and ~ is blessed with some of the
worst breath with which God has ever graced any of its
creatures. I'm always happy when I see ~ cleaning her
ass, because it means her breath will smell better for
a while.

IMPENDING FATHERHOOD NEWS
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
My wife's due date is October 15th! The spawn of
Shoebox shall soon walk among us! Well, not so much
walk, it's mostly just gonna lie there, then crawl
a while later, and THEN walk. But however you look
at it, my days of getting up in the morning secure
in the knowledge that I'm not going to have to clean
up someone elses feces are nearly at an end.

I will quickly answer the two most common questions
I get about my future-daddyness:

Q: What are you going to name your kid?
A: I've been telling everybody "Skeletor" if it's a
girl or "Optimus Prime" if it's a boy (inspired
by my good friend Coffee.) In actuality, I now
know it's gonna be a by, so I plan to name him
after my father. It may seem odd to have a child
named "Dad," but hey.

Q: Has your wife been insane?
A: Other than one surprisingly-emotional tearful
argument about bread, Kim has been reasonably
sane. A few days ago she yelled at me for
turning off the light in the bathroom because she
claims the sink is afraid of the dark, but that's
not pregnancy-induced, that's just proof positive
that I married the right woman.

WORM QUARTET ON MYSPACE NEWS
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Due to the insistent pesterings of WVBR-FM DJ Seriah
Azkath, I've finally given in and put up a Worm Quartet
myspace page. So if you're also a member of that haven
for scantily-clothed goths and desperate musicians and
wanna be my friend, feel free to go here:
http://www.myspace.com/wormquartet

VH-1 RERUN NEWS
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
My appearance on VH1's "Totally Obsessed" will be
rerunning again and again and again for some damned
reason! If you missed it the last seven times it
aired, you can catch it at:

Tuesday, October 19th, 12 pm
Tuesday, October 19th, 2 pm
Thursday, October 21st, 4:30 pm
Thursday, October 21st, 11 pm

That's enough outta my self-promoting ass! I hope to
see some of you at the Syracuse show tonight...it's
gonna be my last live show for a while! Thanks as
always for all your support...you guys are the only
flower of tranquility in the wilderness, and yes, I
stole that from a fortune cookie.

Going through your stuff while you're reading this,

THE BBC has secret plans to boost morale after a nuclear war — by
screening The Sound Of Music.
The 1965 Julie Andrews classic was picked to top the Beeb’s doomsday
schedule because of its “feelgood” factor, it was revealed yesterday.
The musical is in a list of TV and radio programmes to be broadcast to
survivors for 100 days from 20 secret underground bunkers. Academic Dr
Ian Bradley, who uncovered the plans, revealed yesterday: “Shortly after
the siren sounds we can expect to see and hear Julie Andrews.”

Other programmes on the list — drawn up during the Cold War — include
the comedy Hancock’s Half Hour and a selection of Radio 4 afternoon
plays. Dr Bradley, a theology professor at St Andrews University in
Fife, said: “Senior executives spent a lot of time deciding what to
show.” He said the National Anthem was ruled out for broadcast because
it is too gloomy.

Disco classic Stayin’ Alive also got the thumbs-down.

Dr Bradley said: “The Sound Of Music topped the list. Although more than
40 years old it remains a real favourite.” The BBC said: “This is a
security issue so we cannot comment.”

Girl 'bleeds' stones from eyes, nose, ears
Indo-Asian News Service
Ranchi, October 5

Stones have been oozing out of the ears, eyes and nose of a schoolgirl in
this
Jharkhand capital, puzzling doctors who say they have never seen anything
like it before.

Savitri, a Class 7 student from Hazaribagh district, first complained of
stones coming out of her nose in April this year. But things have worsened
dramatically since Sept 30 and stones have started coming out from her ears,
nose and eyes.

The young girl, who is presently undergoing treatment at the Rajendra
Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), said "For the last week, things have
been really bad. It is most excruciating when it comes out of the corner of
the eye."

Doctors are clearly baffled.

"The stones have been sent for medical tests. I have not seen or heard about
stones coming out from eyes before," said Dr Chandrakant of RIMS.

Added Dr Ragho Sharan, ENT specialist at RIMS "In some cases, stones have
come
out from the nose and the ear of some people. But this is the first time I
have even heard of stones coming out of the eyes."

"Stones are formed due to the high level of calcium in the body. But they
are
generally found in the gall bladder and kidney," he explained.

RIMS is planning to set up a medical board to probe the extraordinary case
of
a girl who is otherwise normal in every other way.

* Police in Niles, Ohio, were called to the house of a 50-year-old
man in July, having received complaints that the home might be
one of those increasingly common ones that the resident loses
control of, littered with garbage and vermin and reeking of urine
and feces. Zoning inspector Anthony Vigorito did declare the
home unfit for human habitation but gave the resident credit for
trying to improve things: The man had gone to the trouble of
installing a porta-john in the middle of his living room.

-------- This Is Why You Always Choke the Chicken ---------

BUCHAREST - An old man who must have very poor eyesight
confused his penis for a chicken's neck. He cut it off and
his dog promptly rushed over and ate it, the state Rompres
news agency said Monday. Constantin Mocanu, 67, hurried out
into his yard in his underwear to kill a noisy chicken that
had been keeping him awake at night. "I confused it with the
chicken's neck," Mocanu, who was admitted to the emergency
hospital in Galati, was quoted as saying. "I cut it ... and
the dog rushed and ate it." The bleeding man was brought to
the ER in an ambulance, but doctors now say he is out of
danger. The chicken, however, might not be so safe when the
man returns home.
