** Attached pic of Joe posing over a tied up and masked Jeffie **

Recaps from Last Week via Fire Eater Wizard...

On The Metallic Onslaught: It was, in fact, finally, their season premiere.
Jeffie was wearing a strange mask and was talking in a weird voice claiming
that he was not Jeffie but a mighty luchadore wrestler with extreme powers
which had earned him the right to wear the mask. They all scoffed at this
and made fun of him. Jeffie and Lance got into a brawl that was, in what
passes for Jeffie's mind, apparently supposed to show his super powers and
prove that he was worthy to wear the mask. However, Jeffie was completely
beaten down and Lance unmasked him. Then Jeffie had the mask, but would not
put it back on, saying that he could not wear it again until he proved
himself worthy to wear it. In short, he would have to earn that right. Now,
after that, the rest of the show became truly bizarre, even for MO, which is
really saying something. Jeffie appeared to have gone totally insane. Now, I
know what you're thinking, how could you possibly tell, after all, hasn't he
always been stupid and nuts? Well, of course, but, trust me, I have never
heard him sound anything anywhere near like this. He kept rambling on in a
totally deranged sounding voice. Long disjointed rants in which he talked
about bottles with bees in them, and the bees had guns, and these bees with
guns got into a battle (kinda reminds me of a really fucked up Dr. Seuss
type thing, come to think of it.) He kept going on about this and other
total strangeness that made no sense at all, his voice at times manic, and
at other times sounding like a whimpering child. It was truly disturbing.
Later, Lance and Joe got into another brawl with Jeffie in which they, among
other things, beat him down with rolls of toilet paper. At the next talk
break, Jeffie was clutching the rolls of toilet paper and calling them his
babies, and saying that they had hurt his babies. They brawled with him some
more, and he screamed that they were killing his babies. At the end of the
show Jeffie was still acting completely insane, asking them (in the
whimpering child's voice), why they had killed his babies. I have no idea
what caused Jeffie's apparent total melt down (if it had anything to do with
the rather weird ending of the week before, in which he and Lance went
outside, and Lance said some strange thing about Jeffie disappearing covered
in jam, or if it was something else), but, whatever caused it, it was truly
something to witness. Quite disturbing. So, tune in this week to find out if
Jeffie is back to normal. Well, of course, he has always been abnormal, but,
I mean, back to his former self. We shall see...

On The Last Exit: Co-host David did in fact get to become host for a night
as the LE gang (including Just Joe, luckily for David and all else present)
were attending a Divinity Destroyed concert in New Paltz for the Extreme
Soundscapes DVD project. David began the night with a couple of special
guests, Dan and Ben, who both claimed to be Vikings, who had swam all the
way to the show from Scandinavia. Also there was Pat (the guitarist for
Lotus Project.) The Vikings somehow got David to play some, how shall I put
this, extremely um "interesting?", "different?" requests for them. I mean
stuff like the band Green Jelly sounding very hip hop/dance, a ten minute
long epic by Rhapsody (This thing featured a flute and was truly, um,
unique), some strange song with narration by Bruce Lee, and an entire set of
cheese which started off with Manowar and only got cheesier from there. Also
courtesy of the Vikings they played a "different" strange song by the band
Winds. The music, for the first couple hours anyways, was quite something to
behold. Decidedly un-Last Exit like. Then the Vikings left (on a boat that
they said they had built while they were there, which led to an amusing
little discussion about the wood they used with many innuendos like "don't
touch my wood!", and "why are you so selfish with your wood, why can't I
touch it?!") After the Vikings were gone it was David, Pat, and Gorgar.. The
music returned to more normal, a bit more Last Exit like.. (incidentally
David, oh sure, you let the Vikings play their freaky music which never
would have been sanctioned for LE, but wouldn't play any of my glam
requests, which I promised to take full responsibility for if you did play
them! :p Thanks! I might've put in a good word for you and/or attempted to
ask for some leniency for you for the music you let the Vikings play (not
that I think my asking would help you or get you any mercy, but I might've
tried. But, forget it :) If any punishment awaits you, face it alone.) :p
And, so, thus went a different night, a rare show without most of the usual
LE crew. It was interesting, fun, strange and amusing. I'm not sure I'd
wanna be in David's shoes when they've listened to this show. Tune in for
the return of the gang, and to see if David will show up, and, if so, will
there be any repercussions for him, and, if there are, what they will be...

***************************************************************

Comments and Upcoming stuff from Azkath...

Not that I want to differ with FEW on this, but I don't think that the music
was THAT different from a normal LE. Aside from Green Jelly, which in over
10 years has NEVER been played on the show, everything David played has been
played in the past at some point. Granted this was the most METAL the Last
Exit has been in a very long time as I usually mix up the styles a bit more.
Overall, though, in listening back, David did a pretty kick ass show, and
the Vikings were amusing (I kinda hope they come back sometime... And you
have to wonder, what do Vikings sounds like when they get thrown down the
stairs?), as was Pat. Even if David did call Robot Goes Here - Robert Goes
Here numerous times to my amusement... Then he must have figured it out.
We will tell the story of our, um, fun? adventure to New Paltz this week on
the show. It was, interesting. Also on the show this week, If Man is 5
(www.blackazul.com/ifmanisfive) will be up playing acoustic and bringing us
new music that they have for their CD which will be seeing a release party
in a few weeks. We will also be giving away a Dream Theater DVD, and...
other stuff. Yes. I did notice that David left the THE off The Last Exit
for the Lost and kept calling it Last Exit for the Lost. Hmmm... And after
I finally stopped calling his band The Lotus Project. Well, well, well...
Can we let that go unrewarded? Regardless, I do have to thank Dave for not
fulfilling his job as worst co-host ever and actually showing up and doing a
damn good job. Oh, and the last 2 hours, well, we were supposed to be back,
but in case we weren't, I made a MP3 disk for David to put in that would
cover that time as he barely made it that long. Well, if you look at the
playlist below, or if you were listening, you probably realized that it
didn't make much sense. Apparently, when the disk was burned, it
alphabetized the songs, which is not how I had arranged them. Thus, it was
a mess, and the outro played and then three more songs... Ug.

No idea where Jeffie has been all week, I agree that last week, he, really,
kinda, snapped. Alan from Redezra (www.redezra.net) will be up at the show
this week, I do believe. Other than that, they should be on at the normal
time, maybe...

Xtreme Soundscapes
Volume 1: The Campaign for Musical Awareness

Xtreme Soundscapes is an ambitious and original new DVD Project. It is
created with the intent of exposing some of the more ‘casual’ and mainstream
music fans to impressive music they may not otherwise know, while remaining
interesting and informative to those already interested in the underground
music scene. Talents include local musicians and other nationally located
independent bands, as well as some of the more interesting national acts.

This DVD series will be focused primarily on the heavier and edgier
independent bands, whether they fall into the categories of Punk, Rock,
Hardcore, Metal, Industrial, Goth, or whatever mix thereof, along with our
featured signed artists. In Volume 1, we will feature Crisis.

Crisis have been around for a good many years, and, now signed to The End
Records, have released their most notable album so far, and followed it up
with tours with the likes of Soulfly, Kittie and Otep. They have also
garnered airplay on Fuse and MTV2’s “Headbanger’s Ball”. Despite all this
attention, the band stays very true to their roots, with their artistic
expression being at forefront of what they do. Their down to earth attitude
and observations of the music scene in general made them a perfect choice
for the feature national act on Volume 1 of Xtreme Soundscapes. Included
will be an in-depth interview, a live performance, and a video from their
latest CD.

As for the independent bands on Volume 1, they will consist of The Witching-
an all female rock band, very original, and with a very intense edge.
Located out of Ithaca, NY, they will also be headlining the DVD release show
that will promote this DVD’s completion. Also featured on Volume 1, and
performing at the release show are The PushRods- an old school style Punk
band out of Elmira, NY; Divinity Destroyed- a very original melodic
progressive Metal band from NJ; Lotus Project- a fairly new band from the
Ithaca area, who have a very intense and complex Metal sound; and Worm
Quartet- a one man, comedy synth-Punk act, who has been featured as one of
the most requested artists on the Dr. Demento Show for a couple of years
running now. He comes from Rochester, NY, and will be co-hosting the DVD in
a way that only he can.

Also on the DVD, but not playing the release show, will be Binghamton, NY
based If Man is Five, and Florida’s crazy River Chicken. All bands will be
featured in interviews and have live footage. We should have a couple of
other surprises loaded onto the DVD as well.

The Release Show will be Sunday, November 21st at Castaways in Ithaca, NY.
Lotus Project will take the stage at 7:30, followed by Worm Quartet, The
PushRods, Divinity Destroyed and then finishing off the night will be The
Witching. We will be giving out free copies of the DVD to the first 20 paid
admissions. Beyond that, the DVD’s will be a mere $3 for 2 hours of music
and interviews. This project is not for profit! We are doing this at or
under cost, and the hope is that it will help to enrich and further support
the local music scene.

WORM QUARTET UPDATE AND BLATANT PLUG - 11/5/04

Hey, people who look like things!

Sorry it's been so long since I've sent one of these out, but I've
been rather busy due to the first item below:

PROCREATION NEWS
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
For those of you who haven't heard about this yet, Stephen James Crist
was born on October 23rd, weighing in at 10 pounds and 3.3 ounces.
There's a full-on birth announcement as well as a few pictures at

down past my anti-Bush rant and a few other things.)

Thanks a lot to those of you who sent me supportive e-mails, letters,
baby blankets (You rock, OtterVomit!) etc. It's nice to know that
everyone's getting over their fear and accepting the existence of my
disturbingly-cute spawn.

And as I warned you all, offspring = hiatus. I promised myself, my wife,
and my son that I'd take some time off from playing shows to get to know
my kid and make sure Kim isn't overwhelmed. So don't expect to be catch
a Worm Quartet live performance any time soon.

Seriously.

I smell like a combination of formula and formula that has been spit up.
I've gotten used to both of these smells, but I had no idea that a
formula burp smelled so bad. My gawd, Steve has some serious emission
problems.

7" NEWS

get my side mastered, but this thing should exist within the next couple

tunes and five minutes of kickass Queers-ish punk from Plan 15!

That's enough outta my lame ass...thanks as always for your support,
hope to see some of you guys at UNYCon tomorrow!

Perfecting my catheter impression,

NEWS COLLECTED BY GORGAR

MIKE TRAMP SET TO CLOSE ONE CHAPTER AND BEGIN A SECOND:
Following the conclusion of Mike Tramp's European tour, the former White
Lion and Freak Of Nature frontman has decided it is time to define his
ongoing solo career in relation to his past history.
Only a week after the end of Mike Tramp's European tour, Tramp is announcing
that this is the end of his band playing both White Lion and Freak of Nature
songs in his solo live set. But at the same time Mike is announcing that he
is forming Tramp's White Lion - a band dedicated 100% to the original sound
and songs of White Lion.
"Now is the time for me to make the separation for real and make it all
clear to everyone what it is I am doing. My solo career was always going to
be a departure from both White Lion and Freak of Nature, and I felt I did
that well with my first album Capricorn. But I feel that because I have been
playing a mix of songs in my live set, I have also taken steps backwards in
my solo career, when what I wanted to do was take many steps further away
from what I was known as. With Tramp's White Lion, I now can perform that
classic sound with no compromise, and at the same time take my solo career
to the musical place that I want to go."
Tramp says he never got the chance to clear up last years mess with the
White Lion re-union, but now have the perfect way to set things straight.
"Everybody jumped the gun last year before we even had a chance to confirm
anything. Yes Vito and I was talking back and forth about a possible
re-union, but from the first conversation and till the last, he always told
me he would not do it. But before I knew it I saw the band's name announced
on festivals throughout Europe. I heard other guitars players name mentioned
as replacement and so on. But nothing was ever confirmed from our side. I am
now making the final statement. There will never be an original White Lion
re-union, and the only one performing White Lion will be Tramp's White Lion.
I am personally contacting promoters around the world to let them know that
this is the way it will be. I will also be handling the managing of Tramp's
White Lion myself. At this moment I am talking to several players to take
part in this band. But if the band will ever perform will totally depend on
the interest of the promoters and the demand of the fans. But rest assure
Mike Tramp is moving forward no matter what."

CIRCLE II CIRCLE FIND THEMSELVES IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE:
The highly anticipated record #2 from Circle II Circle is finally mixed and
on it's way to AFM Records Germany. The new album is produced by Zak Stevens
and co-produced by "The Masters" Jim Morris and Dan Campbell. Once again Zak
Stevens, Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery have joined forces in writing this
remarkable CD. Also contributing 2 songs is new song writing partner Bernd
Aufferman.
Zak would like to thank the CIIC band for helping to make a GREAT RECORD!
Paul Micheal Stewart (Bass / Vocals); Thomas Drennan (Drums / Vocals); Evan
Christopher (Guitars / Vocals); Andrew Lee (Guitars / Vocals). Special
appearances include Matt La Porte and Robert Wolf.
The CD is titled The Middle Of Nowhere and contains 10 Tracks with 56 plus
minutes of modern, cutting edge heavy metal. The Middle Of Nowhere is a work
of art that was painstakingly constructed over a 10 month period of
recording seclusion, devastating hurricanes, and many of life's trials and
tribulations. The record flows like a twisting tale of insanity,
devastation, and illusion that takes you on a cynical roller coaster ride
with a cleansing conclusion of triumph over diversity. A very important and
"must have record" for 2005!
Song titles include: Intro In This Life . Chapter 1 All That Remains .
Chapter 2 Open Season . Chapter 3 Holding On . Chapter 4 Cynical Ride .
Chapter 5 Hollow . Chapter 6 Strung Out . Chapter 7 Faces In The Dark .
Chapter 8 The Middle Of Nowhere . Chapter 9 Lost (The Cleansing).
The release date is scheduled for the end of Feb. 2005 and will be followed
by an very special co-headline World Tour with several of the absolute best
new bands found anywhere on earth! 2005 will without question be a huge
breakout year for Circle II Circle!

In a recent interview with Sweden's Metalshrine.se, legendary drummer
CARMINE APPICE (OZZY OSBOURNE, BLUE MURDER, VANILLA FUDGE, KING KOBRA)
talked about his former King Kobra frontman Mark Free (now Marcie Free) and
the sex change that he undertook. "I didn't have a clue! I lived in
Palmdale, CA which is like an hour from Hollywood. I was outside and putting
my garbage out and a friend of mine who used to play with Eddie Money came
by. He sells classic guitars now and he went: 'Carmine, did you hear about
your old singer?' I said 'Who?.' 'Well, Mark Free! He«s had a sex change!' I
just said 'Get outta here! What sex change?' 'I talk to him every once and a
while. What do you mean he had a sex change?' Well, he said: 'He just
auditioned for a friend of mine«s band and he said he used to be the singer
in King Kobra and his name is Marcie Free!' Pretty f**ked up or what? So I
said I didn«t believe it. I called Mark up and I go: 'Hello Mark, what«s
up?' and he goes (High pitched voice) 'Hellooo!' And I said 'Mark, what's
up? We haven«t had lunch in a while, why don't we get together in the
Valley? How about one o'clock? I'll bring my wife and the kids.' He said
'Ok, but I gotta leave at three because I have to go to electrolosis!' I go:
'Electrolosis? Why? And he just said 'I«ll tell you when I see you!' Driving
down with my ex-wife and talking about it and my kids go: 'Dad, your friend
was a man and now he's a woman?' And I go: 'No, no, no!' And this was when
the movie Mrs Doubtfire was out. So we get down there and we're waiting in
the restaurant and he walks in with sweat pants and boobs and he's got make
up on and I just go: 'Holy shit!' So he walked in, sat down and said (High
pitched voice) 'Hiii!.' And I go: 'Hey Mark, what«s up?' He just said: 'I
bet you're a bit surprised!' I go: 'Yeah, but maybe not! You wore more make
up when you were in King Kobra!.' Apparently he's out of the business
because nobody would hire him and he lives in Michigan and works for a
mortgage company and has a really boring life."
