** RECAPS BY FIRE EATER WIZARD **
On The Metallic Onslaught: Jeffie was not there. Either he has not recovered
from the effects of the sexy hamburger the week before, (it turned him into
a zombie that could say nothing but "Lamb Of God"), or he believed them when
they said that there would be no show that week (a clever trick on their
part to fool Jeffie into not showing up, which, perhaps, Jeffie was stupid
enough to fall for, which would be easy to believe, Jeffie being that
stupid). They said that, since it had apparently worked so well, they should
tell him the show was canceled every week. In any case, he was absent, so
did not bring the big surprise he had promised. Shoebox (another of Jeffie's
promises) was not there, big surprise there, :p the big surprise would've
been if he had actually shown up. Rick was back from his time dancing around
in the woods with a bunch of guys consuming lots of alcohol and performing
fertility rites, err, I mean, camping. Lance did some more black metal vocal
stylings of the song titles of one corny CD. And they were joined in the
studio (not on air, though) by some people from another show on WEOS. This
week (Friday the 13th, cool! Does this mean bad luck for them? Jeffie's
return, perhaps? They would certainly consider that very bad luck indeed),
well, who knows? Tune in and find out if Jeffie returns, and, if he does, if
he has recovered yet from the sexy hamburger, and if he delivers on that big
surprise he promised us. Don't hold your breath on Shoebox's showing up,
though, you'd most likely die of suffocation waiting for that to happen...
On The Last Exit For The Lost: Just Joe was there. So was his pretend dad,
Crow, the drummer for The Pushrods. It was decided that the Just Joe
appreciation hour (which had ended the show the week before), would now be
expanded into a whole Just Joe appreciation night, which would be that
night. Just Joe was told that, barring any really bad behavior from him, it
was his night. Just Joe was happy with this, and things went well... For
awhile. But, it is Just Joe we're talking about here, so, it was to be
expected that this could not last for long. Apparently the toilet was broken
(that, amazingly, was not Just Joe's fault, but what came next was all his
fault), and there was a sign on it informing everyone of this fact, and
warning against flushing it as the water would keep on flowing and flood the
building if anyone did. Wouldn't ya know, Just Joe somehow missed this sign
and flushed... Causing massive flooding. He promised that he could fix this.
His solution was to route all the flooding to the basement. He was told that
that was not acceptable (some people are just sooo picky and hard to
please!), as there was equipment and a large part of the CD catalog down
there, things which were needed for the show. Just Joe said that the
basement door could not be opened any more. They tested this and found that
he was right. They threw Just Joe into the door many times to try to get it
to open. No luck. So they threw him through the window. By Now the water
down there was waist high and stunk badly. Next break they ordered Just Joe
back to the basement. He said that he did not want to go down there because
there was something bad down there (something besides the stinking waist
deep water), something which had grabbed him. He resisted strongly,
insisting loudly that there was something bad down there. They threw him
back down there anyways (with a huge rough toss through the door and down
the stairs)... Just Joe could be heard screaming in terror down there. So
who knows, as that was the end of the show (or, at least the talking part of
it). This week, the band Black Labeled should hopefully be on for an
Interview. They are a local band, and this will be their first visit to LE,
so, check that out, it should be cool. And tune in for the further
adventures of Just Joe, find out if he survived the basement. He probably
did, he is extremely hard to kill, and, when killed, doesn't stay dead for
very long. Tune in to find out what happened to him down there, and what
will happen to him next. And for whatever/whoever else may happen/be
there...
*******************************************************
Notes from Azkath...
Jeffie will be back on The Metallic Onslaught this week. He has told me he
is not happy about what happened last week, and that he is ESPECIALLY
unhappy with how Lance ruined something for him, and then he mumbled off
without explaining. He also said his big surprise is now being redone and
will not be ready for a while. Take that as you will. Shoebox may be there,
but probably not. He does however, have a show Saturday night with Powered
by Satan at Monty's Crown Lounge in Rochester, and that is being dubbed
Nipplepalooza.
On The Last Exit this week, we should have some representation, hopefully,
from Black Labeled. We will see. They will be playing the first ever Xtreme
Soundscapes Showcase Show on May 21st at Castaways with Others and Sun
Descends. Other people may also show up, but at the moment I am brain dead
and can not remember who. Shoebox may be there, it will be his 3rd
anniversary on the show, his first show being right before we tried to end
the world 3 years ago. If not, though, he said he will try and call in.
Either would be nice, since he has been so absent since giving birth. He did
make a cute creature though.
Writing this after getting back from seeing Vader and Kreator at The Penny
Arcade, and my neck seems to be a bit sore. Holy Fuck, are Kreator better
than ever live. I do not think I have enjoyed a show that much in a very
long time. Vader were good, but, damn, Kreator were just fucking amazing. We
missed The Autumn Offering because we were interviewing Mille from Kreator
while they were on. That interview will be a part of Vol 2 of the Xtreme
Soundscapes DVD's. Fantastic interview at that. Very, very happy with it.
As a matter of fact, I am fairly happy with all the stuff we have for this
Vol, and I believe it will annihilate the first one... You will not believe
some of the stuff that we have for this... :) We also have a shortcut
address now for the Xtreme Soundscapes section fo the website, and that is:
http://embark.to/xtremesoundscapes
Oh, and a special thanks to Amy for helping us out with stuff tonight, and
for just being fun to hang out with...

DAVID WAYNE Died Due To Injuries Sustained In Head-On
Automobile Accident - May 10, 2005
The following press release has been posted at the
David Wayne's Metal Church web site:
"On behalf of David Wayne's Metal Church, we would
like to express our deepest sorrow in the passing of
our metal brother, David Wayne. This is not only a
loss for us as a band and his family, but also
millions of metalheads throughout the world. David
died due to complications from injuries he sustained
in a head-on automobile accident several months ago.
"David Wayne was the patented scratchy vocals of
several METAL CHURCH albums and was in the process of
returning to the metal scene with his new band lineup.
His goal was to return to the sounds of METAL CHURCH's
albums released in 1984 and 1986. We will always
remember the burning words and vocals in 'Gods of
Wrath', 'Watch the Children Pray', and 'Start the
Fire'. David and his current band had just completed
several new songs and were ready to head to the
recording studio after their European tour dates this
summer.
"Along with David's family and friends, we would ask
that cards, letters, and flowers be sent to the below
address. Additionally, donations are being accepted to
help David's family with funeral expenses.
