** RECAPS FROM FIRE EATER WIZARD **
On The Metallic Onslaught:
Thor arrived, and he was still perplexed over all the bizarre events of the
week before (changing from himself to Jeffie and back again about 20 times
in a couple minutes and, thus having time and events that he couldn't
account for)... From things the others said, he began to deduce that it all
seemed to be caused by hearing people sneeze, however, he didn't know what a
sneeze was. He told them that they needed to sneeze for him, so that he
might learn why this thing called a sneeze released Jeffie, so that he could
keep Jeffie locked away inside him forever. He kept demanding that they
sneeze for him. They didn't want to comply with this. Thor started attacking
people, trying to make them sneeze by getting in their faces, trying to
stroke their noses, and, well, you get the general idea, being extremely
annoying. This caused many brawls. During the course of events, there were
some sneezes, and, each time anyone sneezed, Jeffie would reappear. Then
someone would sneeze, I think on purpose, to get rid of Jeffie, and Thor
would be back. Thor was still puzzled, and finally said that he had
concluded that, for some reason which he didn't understand, the sound of a
sneeze really startled him way down deep in side... Then all hell broke
loose... People started sneezing (mostly Rick, I think to confuse and piss
off both Thor and Jeffie) left and right. Thor and Jeffie kept getting
control of the body for a few seconds, and then losing it again. They went
back and forth about 50 times in the space of a short period of time. Thor
became more and more confused and disturbed by this. He said that, if this
kept on much longer, that he was going to have to go back to his Viking
homeland, or what's left of it, due to all the global warming and ice
melting, and try to find him self. Then, another bizarre thing occurred...
There were two sneezes at once and it seems that a third personality
developed, or was released. This one called itself Pepe. It seemed very
happy to be out, and, after dancing around a lot and singing "La Cucaracha",
it ran out the door and was gone. So, who knows...
On The Last Exit For The Lost:
Just Joe was there, and he was still going on and on about his precious
shiny rock, which he wouldn't let anyone else touch. The boy apparently
never learned how to share and is a selfish hogger of his possessions. Then
he disappeared. He called in and said that he was tracking/stalking Gorgar,
and that he was sure that Gorgar wanted to steal his shiny rock, (which he
calls his shiny), because everyone was out to steal his shiny rock, of
course they were, why wouldn't they be, was how he saw it. He was asked what
success he was having with the dinosaur hunting. He said that, unbeknownst
to Gorgar, he was watching him right then. He said that Gorgar was doing
disgusting things. He said that Gorgar was eating his own poop. Well, I'm
sorry, that's what he said! Then he said that he had lost Gorgar, proving
that he is as miserable a failure at tracking and spying on people (and
dinosaurs) as he is at everything else he does. Then he said that he had
found Gorgar again, but later, after Gorgar arrived, we found out from
Gorgar that that had only been because Gorgar had come up behind Just Joe
and said hi. Gorgar arrived a short while later. And Just Joe came back
shortly after that. They told him that a listener in the chat room, (the
drummer for Ranzatsu), was claiming that he had a full proof plan to steal
the shiny rock. They told Just Joe that he better go find him and try to
stop him if he wanted to protect his rock. Just Joe set out to do just that.
He called in saying that he was at Mark's house, and was, unbeknownst to
him, spying on him as they were speaking, and that the kid was doing
disgusting things. (sound familiar?) Then he said that he had knocked him
out, and that he was going to put him in the trunk of his car, teach him to
think he could steal the shiny rock! A short while later, Just Joe was back.
They sent Gorgar out to look in the trunk of Just Joe's car and see if what
he was claiming was true. Gorgar did this, and said that it was not Mark,
but, another guy in the trunk. It seems that Just Joe had finally,
mistakenly of course, gotten the listener that he had tried to beat up for
saying nasty things about him four months ago. Back then he had beaten up
some poor stranger, because Just Joe is stupid, and can never do anything
right. In Joe's trunk was Electric Vodka Dude. Then they told Just Joe that
they were going to help him hide his shiny rock, as now, lots of people were
threatening it. So, because they cared so very much about him and his shiny
rock, and that no harm should come to it, out of the goodness of their
hearts, they had come up with the perfect hiding place for it, where it
would be forever safe. They promised him that they would never tell a single
soul about the hiding place. Just Joe asked them if he could erase their
memories afterwards, so that they would not be able to steal the rock? They
told him that, if that would make him feel better, then yes, of course he
could do that! Then they told him that the shiny rock was having very nasty
things said about it and was being horribly maligned in the chat room, and
that he'd better go get on the downstairs computer and defend the shiny's
honor right away! And not to worry, while he was doing that, they would hide
the rock for him so that it would be safe from the evil clutches of all the
people who wanted to steal it from him! Just Joe left to go defend his shiny
rock's honor in the chat room. When He came back, they told him that, it was
done, the rock was safely hidden away. He wanted to know where it was
hidden. They told him that, now, how could they tell him that!?? After all,
they had told him, and sworn to him in fact, that they would tell no one!
For some reason Just Joe became irate. Man!, you try to help some people,
and that's the thanks you get for it! People are so ungrateful! That's the
trouble with society today, all the ingratitude! Just Joe began ranting and
raving and tearing apart the room, knocking everything over, and messing
everything up, looking for his shiny. At last they gave in and told him
that, even though he had made them promise not to tell anyone, they would.
And so that meant that they not only told Just Joe where they had hidden the
rock, but also all of the millions (I'm sure that, with the Internet and
all, LE does have millions of listeners, and, if not, it certainly should
have, and no doubt will soon!), of people who were listening to the show. It
seems that they had taken the shiny rock and hidden it in the river behind
the radio station, with all the other wet rocks that were already there.
Apparently Just Joe didn't approve of the hiding place that they had chosen.
He said that he hated them all, and rushed out to the river bed to try and
retrieve his shiny. His ingratitude just knows no bounds! He called in from
the river bank, still extremely upset. But apparently they were right all
along, and it had been a very good and safe hiding place, because, at the
end of the last talk break, Just Joe was still out at the river, whining and
trying to find his shiny, and having no success. So, how damn shiny could
the rock really be!? If it's so shiny, it should have been easy for him to
find it among the other ordinary common rocks! Then again, he had already
demonstrated his abysmal track record at looking for and finding things, and
he is stupid, so who knows... So, now you all know where the shiny rock (if
it really is such a shiny, wonderful rock at all, since we only have Just
Joe's word on that, I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in that!) is... If
you have nothing better to do, well, then, perhaps you might want to
consider rock hunting. :) And so that was the show. I hope all of you in
the area attended the two Xtreme Soundscapes presented concerts this week,
(and if you didn't, why not!? What's wrong with you!?), one of which
featured the return of Worm Quartet to Ithaca after a long absence due to
his need to recover from giving birth to his spawn. This week... Tune in to
see if Just Joe, or anyone else, for that matter, ever found the shiny rock.
And for whatever and whoever else that may occur... Don't miss out on all
the fun!
********************************************************************
Notes from Azkath...
I must thank the 30+ people that showed up tonight at the Xtreme Soundscapes
show at Castaways. Small turnout, but at least the people there seemed to
enjoy themselves. As for the rest of you, please, tell us, what will it take
to get you to come out to a fun show?
There is no Metallic Onslaught this week. Not sure why. I think Joe got
confused and found himself in North Carolina.
On the Last Exit... Yeah, what FEW said above. Other than that, not sure
what will happen. Soon we will be stickering up Joe and sending him out to
college town to promote the show. Should be fun. Trying to get the audio
from some of the bands tonight for the feature on the show Saturday, if
successful, we will have Robot Goes Here and Worm Quartet live as our
feature artists. And don't forget, this weekend (Starting today) is the
Binghamton Underground Music Festival. Xtreme Soundscapes is sponsoring
tonight's show... http://www.blackazul.com/bumf for all the info.

A few interesting bits 'o' news from the new issue of Detritus...
--(snip)--
-Brides Of Destruction On US Tour; Heading Out On The "Motor-Homey"
Tour With National Recording Artist Adema
HOLLYWOOD -- BOD will be on tour supporting their new album RUNAWAY
BRIDES releasing September 27th on Shrapnel Records. Their first
single "White Trash" is soon to hit the airwaves. "White Trash" is
exactly what it sounds like. "The pot calls the kettle black ..money
can't buy class ...but in LA it's all for free all you need is a
casting couch, a bloody scalpel and a sugar daddy," recites LeGrande.
It pays homage to all the trailer-park-style culture and the people
that try to leave them. From there the Brides will discharge a slew of
slamming songs on the audience like "Criminal," "Deadman's Ruin" and
"Lords Of The Mind." "This is the record we always wanted to make,"
states Tracii Guns. "It has a great blend of modern rock heaviness
with retro sounds and styles. It is the perfect 'Brides' record of
today."
Adema will be coming off their own headlining tour to join the Brides
on a tour of debauchery in support of their latest album release
PLANETS. Standout tracks include: the first single, "Tornado"; title
track, "Planets"; a ballad, "Rise Above"; rocker "Bad Triangle,"
featuring a guest vocal appearance by Jujitsu master Ralek Gracie, aka
Rio Life, a member of the world-renowned Gracie Family (and friend of
Adema drummer Kris Kohls, himself an avid Jujitsu trainer); and fierce
closer, "Vikraphone." Yet, the truth is, all the tracks on "Planets"
(count them, 16!... plus one extra surprise!) are expertly-crafted,
hook-laden songs; there is not a miss among them.
