** Recaps from Fire Eater Wizard **
On The Metallic Onslaught:
Lancer was back after having been not there the week before. Jeffie arrived. He
played a lot of songs on his kazoo. Which all sounded, oddly, very much like
theme songs from old television shows, complete with all the instruments and
sound effects. And "Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep", complete with all the barnyard
animal's sounds (Lancer provided the vocals for that one). And stuff with birds
and frogs sounds as well (Jeffie must have managed to conquer his fear of frogs
for that one). Amazing the range of stuff you can get out of a kazoo! Especially
when it's a kazoo you don't even have! Why, he even did "The A Team" theme
complete with the machine gun fire! Very talented is Jeffie! Joe and Jeffie
Brawled and Joe put a plastic bag over Jeffie's head...
On The Last Exit For The Lost:
On this LE were: Just Joe, Electric Vodka Dude, and a band. Said band was,
Rabid. They were there for most of the show. Rabid, as you may recall is the
band that features a member who has a phobia of... Stickers. Yes, the dreaded,
awful sticker! Rabid were, at one point, supposed to beat down Just Joe outside.
However, they did not do this. Instead they mostly beat down each other,
especially their roadie. They beat down each other a lot this night. Just Joe's
Hugging Music played, and the band got hugged by Just Joe. Later Just Joe put a
sticker down the pants (in the back, the ass, not the front) :) of the band
member who can't stand stickers. EVD was talking in a annoying Dr Phil
imitation, and wouldn't stop, even when asked repeatedly to, so Just Joe was
told to take that sticker from the band member's ass, and stick it to EVD's
head. which he tryed to do. Just Joe tormented that poor guy with the sticker
phobia with stickers all night. He never should have let it be known that he had
this phobia, he did, so that's what he gets. :) EVD at some point during the
night threw Just Joe down the stairs, then told Just Joe that there were spiders
down there, and Just Joe ran, screaming, up the stairs. Rabid were interviewed,
told us about themselves, what they have been, and will be, up to. A bunch of
tracks from their CD were played. They are cool.
http://www.givemebackmybrain.cjb.com and http://www.myspace.com/rabid666 are the
web sites where you can find them. After the band had gone, Azkath told EVD that
he and Just Joe had a surprise for him, which they would give to him in a little
while. EVD said that he didn't like surprises, but they assured him that he
would love this one. At the next talk break, Just Joe was told to take EVD
downstairs to give him his surprise. They went downstairs. We could not hear
anything. However, at the next talk break, when EVD and Just Joe were back
upstairs, EVD was acting very strangely. He refused to talk about whatever it
was that had gone on down there. And what talking he would do, he did in an odd
trance like voice. he appeared to be suffering from shock from some traumatic
incident. In fact, his speech was almost robot like, devoid of emotion. Azkath
asked Just Joe if he had given EVD his surprise. Just Joe said that indeed he
had. EVD, insisted that nothing had happened. Azkath asked Just Joe if he had
the pictures. Just Joe did. Azkath told Just Joe that, he didn't want to see
them, but to show them to EVD. Just Joe did. EVD still appeared to be in a
trance. They asked EVD why his head was all red. And Azkath reminded Just Joe
that EVD is prone to heart attacks. Then Azkath told EVD that it really hadn't
been a very nice thing to do to call the cops on Just Joe 2 weeks back. And he
asked EVD how he felt about having done that not very nice thing now? EVD was
still apparently elsewhere, or at least his mind was, and he didn't give much of
a response to this. Then, at the last talk portion of the night, Just Joe
clobbered EVD repeatedly with something that sounded very heavy and metallic.
Well, whatever EVD's punishment was, it certainly seemed to have quite the
effect on EVD. And that was how the show (or at least the talking part of it)
ended, with Just Joe repeatedly beating on EVD with the heavy metallic object,
EVD trying to fight him off, and not having much success with that. The Feature
Artist for this show was... Actually, it was two artists... The bands Castle
Bravo, and Armageddon Monks performances from The Xtreme Soundscapes Volume 5
DVD Release Show, back on September 23rd. Those were good to hear, they sounded
great...

Notes from Azkath...
So, Metallic Onslaught, No Joe. Rick, Lance, and Jeffie should be there, and
maybe someone else who has never been there before... Rick will be running
things and is planning on making it the Halloween show.
As for The Last Exit, it will be a Tribute to the Past, We Love Satan Show. Just
in time for Samhain. It is also our 7 hour show. Our feature artist, will be
Mercyful Fate, live from 1983. Also, I heard murmurs that Armageddon Monks may
stop in. We will see who else shows up, and what we may do for Satan... While
playing lots of classic Metal and stuff...

Reunited SACRIFICE Begins Writing New Material - Oct. 26, 2006
SACRIFICE guitarist/vocalist Rob Urbinati has issued the following update:
"The process has begun. New SACRIFICE songs are being written and if they can be
held up to our standards...they will be heard. We were always notorious for
taking a really long time to write, hopefully this time it won't take as long.
Joe [Rico, guitar] and Scott [Watts, bass] have sent me some devastating riff
tapes, Gus [Pynn, drums] and myself will begin the process in November."
In other news, Urbinati was recently interviewed by Metal-Rules.com. An excerpt
from the chat follows:
Metal-Rules.com: If you guys did put out a new album, would it be the classic
SACRIFICE sound, or would it be somewhat updated?
Urbinati: I would say it's more on the side of classic SACRIFICE. I don't want
to say there's new elements thrown in, because it makes people go "fuck, this
sucks!," but there's not much of that. That's what we've talked about, too — as
much as I love LAMB OF GOD or something, I don't want SACRIFICE to sound like
that. I want it to sound like a thrash band. I don't want it to be a thrash
band, with new influences. It has to be balls-out fuckin' thrash, from when you
press play until it stops. If it's not gonna be that, we're just gonna say "Fuck
it."
Metal-Rules.com: If you guys did the new album, would you ever tour again?
Urbinati: I doubt it. If we were to do that, it would be a couple of shows here
and there. We would never do a full-scale tour. Our lives have changed too much.
We have families and stuff, and we can't just leave work and say "Okay, we're
going on tour, this is our new career." We're all like 40 years old — this isn't
the time to be picking up our music career. As much as I, and probably the rest
of the guys, would like to, it's not reality. We can't feed our families with
that. If we could, we would do it, but it's just not there.
Metal-Rules.com: If this [Day Of The Equinox II festival in Toronto] is the
final show as SACRIFICE, are there other musical projects that you would start?
Urbinati: I write all the time at home. I've got tons and tons of songs written,
not necessarily SACRIFICE-style, but at some point I'll get something together
again. Even if SACRIFICE does get together and do another album, I'm sure I'll
do something else, and at some point put something else out. I just have it in
me to do that — I love to write music and play in a band, all that stuff.
Something will happen at some point I'm sure.

DETENTE's 'Recognize No Authority' Remastered - Oct. 26, 2006
DETENTE's clasic album "Recognize No Authority" has just been remastered with
Brad Vance at Redmastering. Brad previously remastered albums by FLOTSAM AND
JETSAM, FATES WARNING, and ARMORED SAINT, and has also worked with CANNIBAL
CORPSE. According to a press release, "The remaster kicks ass! Brad was careful
to maintain a balance between making the album sound crisp while keeping the raw
elements that make it a classic. You won't be disappointed!"
As previously reported, "Recognize No Authority" will soon be reissued in the
USA and Germany by Cognitive Records. The CD will be distributed in the USA by
The End Records and in Germany by Hellion Records. Additional distributors will
be announced shortly. The expected release is early December.
"Recognize No Authority" was a critically acclaimed recording that maintains a
cult following to this day. It was also the launching ground for nu-metal metal
producer Ross Robinson (KORN, SLIPKNOT, FEAR FACTORY, SOULFLY) who plays drums
on the album. The CD also marked the first full-length release by FEAR OF GOD's
Dawn Crosby, who sadly passed away on December 15, 1996.
