So, for anyone who missed it last week, there was a rather abbreviated
version of The Last Exit for the Lost. It was good while it lasted
though... Our transmitter was on the verge of blowing up, and it was
creating a buzzing sound under the FM signal. I was trying to fix the
computer system, which was down when I got there, and they (as in the staff
members who were previously trying to fix things) went up to the
transmission shack to see what the buzz was being caused by. Electricity
was arcing off the tower all over the place, so they had to shut it down and
call the power company to come look at it. Fun Fun Fun. I did get the
computer system up and running eventually, not that it mattered for that
night's show... Oh well. This week things should be back to normal, I
hope. No Gorgar again, so it may be a quiet show, I don't know. Feature
artist will be My Dying Bride.

On the Onslaught, Um, I don't remember what happened last week. Damn. I
know Jeffie got beaten down at some point, not that that's anything new. He
still has SARS. And still has some of McGroin's Pills left last I knew. I
know he is planning something big for this week, but I really have no clue
as to what it is... Shoebox should be back and Plan 607 (www.plan607.com)
should be there for an Interview...

Also, on another note, the new Mr. Downstairs website is now online at
www.mrdownstairs.com. There are two new mp3s, new pics, and the biography
tells the whole deal. Go take a
look..._________________________________________________

SEVEN WITCHES website, www.sevenwitches.net, reports that the band will
return to the studio in September to begin recording the follow-up to
Passage To The Other Side. Touring should begin in early 2004. As previously
reported, Seven Witches founder Jack Frost has been hard at work on a solo
effort, for Noise Records, prior to commencing on the next Witches platter,
slated to begin recording later this year. For this initial solo foray,
Frost has aligned himself with an interesting group of coconspirators, in
and outside the metal realm. The material on the still untitled disc is said
to be a departure from his previous output, as a look at the roster would
indicate. Frost handles all the guitars, and a few vocals. Completed tracks
include: 'Stay' featuring: Harry Hess, from Harem Scarem, on vocals, Mike
Duda (WASP) bass and Gonzo (Armored Saint/Life After Death) drums. 'What's
Left Of You N Me' featuring: Steve Braun, vocals, Mike Duda, bass and Gonzo,
drums. 'Lack Of Communication' (Ratt cover) featuring: Jack from Life After
Death, vocals, Mike Duda and Gonzo. 'The Man I Am' featuring: Jack Frost,
vocals, Billy Childs (Britny Fox), bass and Johnny Dee (Doro/Britny Fox),
drums. 'Fight Fire With Fire' (Kansas cover): Steve Braun, Joey Vera
(Armored Saint/Fates Warning/Seven Witches/Engine), bass and Gonzo.

For Immediate Release:

MOTORHEAD Issues Five-CD, 99-Song Box Set
'STONE DEAF FOREVER!' On October 7th Through METAL-IS/SANCTUARY

Career-Spanning Collection Includes Classics, Rarities, 19
Previously-Unreleased Tracks, 60-Page Booklet, Full-Color Replica Tour
Poster & Button

Motorhead is a true original. Ever since vocalist/bassist Lemmy unleashed
the British band on the world in 1975, multiple generations of music fans
have embraced its one-of-a-kind brand of eardrum-battering, brain-bashing,
utterly uncompromising rock 'n' roll. And now Motorhead is finally being
honored with a proper box set.

'Stone Deaf Forever!' is a five-CD, 99-song career-spanning overview set for
release on Metal-Is/Sanctuary Records on October 7, 2003. It's the first
fully comprehensive box set containing recordings made for multiple record
companies during the period 1975-2002. And it's also the first one ever
released with full band approval.

The track listing was compiled with input from Motorhead and its fan club.
Among the classic hits and rarities are 19 previously unreleased tracks.

The 60-page booklet includes rare and unpublished photos and memorabilia
from the Motorhead archives in addition to an in-depth essay by Mick Wall,
the noted heavy metal journalist and editor of Classic Rock magazine.
Another special treat is the cover artwork, which incorporates a newly
commissioned painting by longtime Motorhead artist Joe Petagno.

The Motorhead story has simply become a part of rock 'n' roll lore. It began
when former Jimi Hendrix roadie Lemmy (born Ian Kilmister, the son of a
vicar) was dismissed from his membership in the space-rock band Hawkwind
after being busted in Canada for possession. The last song he wrote for the
band was called "Motorhead" and after deciding against his original choice
Bastard as the moniker for his new band, he chose Motorhead. Joining Lemmy
in the original lineup were guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox.
Soon, Fox left and was replaced by "Philthy" Phil Taylor and guitarist
"Fast" Eddie Clarke joined. Wallis left and the famous trio of
Lemmy/Taylor/Clarke remained in place until 1982.

With Lemmy's throaty howls leading the way, Motorhead thundered onto the
scene with albums like its self-titled debut, 'Overkill' and 'Bomber' and a
curious thing happened -- the band was embraced by both heavy metal and punk
fans. Considering the division between the legendary British punk scene and
the "New Wave of British Heavy Metal" in the late 1970s and early 1980s, it
took the power of Motorhead to bring the two worlds together. The album 'Ace
of Spades' took Motorhead to even greater heights of creativity and
popularity but the legendary 1981 live album 'No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith'
pushed everything over the top. The album debuted at # 1 on the British
charts.

Clarke left the band in 1982 and was replaced by Brian Robertson, formerly
of Thin Lizzy. Robertson himself left a year later and was replaced by
Wurzel and Philip Campbell, once again giving Motorhead a two-guitar attack.
Taylor soon departed and was replaced by Saxon alumnus Pete Gill. In 1987,
Taylor returned to take over for Gill.

Respect for Motorhead manifested itself in a Grammy Award nomination for
Best Metal Performance for 1991's acclaimed '1916' album. Through this time
period for the band, Lemmy's songwriting had been growing, particularly in
songs addressing the horrors of war. By 1992 Taylor had left Motorhead once
again, this time to be replaced by former King Diamond skins-basher Mikkey
Dee, who joined for 'March or Die.' Wurzel left in 1996 and the current
lineup of Lemmy/Campbell/Dee has been the longest-running version of the
band, yielding such strong albums as 'We Are Motorhead' and 'Hammered.'
Motorhead retains both underground and mainstream appeal. For example, the
song "The Game" became the theme song for World Wrestling Entertainment
superstar Triple H.

As Motorhead nears its third decade of existence, there are no signs of
slowing down. Lemmy and his cohorts are eternal.

For Immediate Release:

Sweden's EVERGREY Embark On Tour with Arch Enemy;
Also Appearing at Atlanta's Prog Power Festival
To Promote Vibrant 'Recreation Day'!!

EVERGREY is planning to promote their latest album, the elegant Recreation
Day, with a number of live North American appearances, including an
impressive tour with rising metal act Arch Enemy, as well as a return to the
increasingly acclaimed Prog Power Festival at Earthlink Live in Atlanta on
September 5 & 6 (with Nightwish, Rage, Symphony X, and others). This will
mark the band's first-ever North American tour.

Having made a lasting impact with critics and fans alike with their last
release In Search Of Truth, Sweden's EVERGREY has unveiled its latest
masterwork upon the world with Recreation Day for InsideOut Music America.
Displaying marked growth with each release, EVERGREY has concocted a
musically colorful, yet lyrically bleak, reflection of the world with
Recreation Day. Part fantasy & part honest emotion, the album redefines
Swedish Metal with a progressive flair beyond even Meshuggah's capabilities.
Thought provoking and sonically uncompromising, Recreation Day is yet
another exceptional release for EVERGREY, a band whose multi-textured style
incorporates Northern moroseness, dexterous progressive musicianship, and
soulful, heartfelt balladry.

Vocalist/guitarist Tom S. Englund describes the bold content contained
within Recreation Day, "The music is representative of what EVERGREY is
about, the diversity we have in most of our songs. My idea was to make it
really beautiful and hard-hitting." True words indeed, as the power
harnessed on the album has compelled the band to film videos for the
sobering "I'm Sorry" and the vigorous "Blinded" to promote the release.

Although the content of EVERGREY's albums can be described as melancholic,
their work ethic is anything but, and we will be seeing a lot more of the
band as the year progresses. Press concurs the excitement:

"...ample ambitious song structures and impressive lead work that descends
from the Blackmore/Malmsteen lineage." ~ Guitar One Magazine

"...a true gem." ~ Outburn Magazine

"...harmonious vocals, killer guitar and keyboard work..." ~ Unrestrained!
Magazine
