I totally agree with you - accoustic mixes are way
cool. Live versions tend to suck a little though

Yep, its a brilliant track, I was just listening to it
the other day and wishing that they would release an
album with all instrumental versions of their
hits......... Now that would be good !!!!!!!!!

Yep, nowadays, to do well in the charts, you have to
get it into the clubs first......
A lot of the seeds toons are top 10 potential, they
just didnt have the broad appeal that a single with a
couple of decent mixes would have.
Take Roxettes recent single, the track is average, but
it has some of Tee's mixes in there, and they are
terrific!!!!!! Trust me !!!!!!
See ya folks,

From: ONElist Tech Support <admin@onelist.com>
Dear Moderators:
In the ONElist spirit of community, we are pleased to announce ONEreach.
ONEreach is an initiative by ONElist to periodically sponsor fun
and interactive programs that encourage the growth of your communities
while simultaneously contributing to them. It is our hope that the
ONEreach initiative will foster even stronger communities around the
common interests and causes that have brought your communities together
in the first place.
We are kicking off ONEreach today with the "Grow to Give" Program.
Through the "Grow to Give" Program, ONElist will donate $5,000 to each
of two charities chosen by the two communities that grow their
membership the most within the next two months. The community that grows
the most in actual new ONElist subscribers and the community that grows
the most as a percentage basis of new ONElist subscribers will each choose
a recipient charity. ONElist will then donate $5,000 to that charity in
the name of the community.
All ONElist communities as of April 19, 1999 at 12:01 a.m. PDT are
automatically participants in the "Grow to Give" Program. The program
will run from April 19, 1999 through June 19, 1999 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
As moderators, we encourage you to inform your communities about the
"Grow to Give" Program and our overall ONEreach initiative. The Program
Overview is posted on our website at:
http://www.onelist.com/info/onereachsplash.html
Good luck to you and your community on becoming a "Grow to Give" Community!!
Thanks,
The ONElist Team

never used to have any decent mixes of their songs on the cds -
>Change - no mixes
>Marvellous - crap mixes
Must get these two..don't have them!!
>Perfect - accoustic mix - not quite what I want
Ok so its not a mix, but i think the acoustic version is absolutely brilliant..
and so are the new versions of why why why and telling tales on the sugar coated
iceberg cd 2
>Lucky you - Loadsamixes - but the only half decent one was lunar cabaret mix -
which still was bad
Which cd do you have.. i have a cd with only two tracks and the second one is
the lunar mix at 5:22 mins
>Ready or not - not
Must search for this one!
>What if - 2 mixes - dire
Aha the leuroj mixes.. i haven't heard them in quite a while.. i think tonight
might be a lightning seeds only night when i get back from work. Has anyone
heard the mix and match on one of the What If cd's.. that was originally on a
cassette that came on the front of goal magazine.. bloody hell i still have that
original tape as well, stashed around somewhere
>Sugar coated - none
Sugar Coated Iceberg hasn't got any mixes but its got some top b sides esp those
reworked versions i mentioned earlier
>You showed me - now this is brilliant - loads of decent mixes - esp Tee's mixes
- excellent
I was quite surprised to see a cd like this one released.. i mean fooking
hell..one cd has two tracks on it..the other has 7 tracks on it! No wonder you
loved that
>What you say- again brilliant
Yep this has 4 remixes as well on it..
Traditionally the lightning seeds havent been a remix orientated band.. they've
only come about because the band has gotten more popular and dj's have gotten
interested in remixing them... to get todd terry remixing some tracks is a feat
in itself

the seeds.. then i found one..

Wahey! A Local Lad.. i'm from Rotherham originally, which just up the road from
you.. although now i live in Bradford, slightly further north

Hey Mem, i think your a bit confused.. Three Lions was the song that the
Lightning Seeds did with Frank Skinner and David Baddiel (a UK football show)
originally for the 1996 European Championships held in England. Its on Like You
Do - The Best of the Lightning Seeds andf its also on some special editions of
Sugar Coated Iceberg as well. The song was re-released in 1998 with new words
for the 1998 World Cup, but then it wasn't the official song.. that was the echo
and the bunnymen and friends one..
I'll try and find out about T in the park and Leeds 99 for you. I think Leeds 99
is a second part of the reading festival this year.. cause the northern part of
V99 has been moved to Weston Park in Staffordshire
BTW Mem, do you still want those Unkle / Ian Brown CD's??

Hiya folks,
Favourite album, eh. Thats a tricky one....
Jollification. I just love all of those simple pop
tunes - very easy to listen too and sounds great.
This style has also carried on to the other albums -
eg Sugar coated icebergs - its that "sound" that I
love. but it is all complete on the jolli albun.
Never seen them live - yet -

I'm Kamran the list owner.. this is a fairly new list, but
i set it up to talk about the band lightning seeds because
i didn't know of anywhere that i could discuss my favourite
band.. there has been some discusion on here before, but we
could talk a bit more.. esp with all the new members that
have joined..
so i asking which of the albums are your favourite - mine
being dizzy heights and has anyone seen them live and got
any stories..

They have been used in more than 2 adverts here, but the two i mentioned were
the only ones which sprang to mind....
They did use the Life of Riley on Match of the Day's Goal of the Month feature,
which helped the song to achieve cult status
BTW What the americans think of Three Lions???

Hullo,
I think that they don't get used in adverts, unlike the Verve, because
they are not very well known here unlike bands like: Verve & Oasis.
