Re: linn problems

hey craig thanks for the response. Yeah, I contacted forat a while
back and explained some of the problems to them. He said hed be
happy to look at it, however, i live in virginia, and i figured the
cost of shipping it out to him in california and the cost of labour
would be twice as much as I even paid for the thing ($200). So Ive
been just trying to survive without hi-hat for the time being.
Also, unfortunately, Im not very savvy to the electronics in a linn
drum (or electronics in general), so I wouldn't know an envelope ic
from a ham sandwich, which is something I should like to remedy.
Anyhow, let me know if you remember anything else about when you had
this particular problem.
Oh, and while Im on the subject, can you swap out eproms that dont
have ZIF sockets (the blue things) already installed? The warning
on the inside of the machine says to take it to a linn dealer, but I
have an old sheet of directions from a dmx that says you can gently
lift them out with a screwdriver....

thanks again,
andrew

Swapping out eproms is easy. Just get a $3 eprom puller tool and be careful not to bend or break the pins. Turn off the machine first, although 'hot swapping'...
