Description
This Group is for the dissemination of information, updates and events surrounding the GoGo Legend, Little Benny.
Anthony "Little Benny" Harley, one of go-go music's pioneers, began his career in music at the tender age of 12. If you know your go-go music, then you know Little Benny. Measuring at just under 5' tall, it's obvious to the eye why he has always carried this name. Lil' Benny has inspired many "talkers" or "MC's" in today's go-go music scene. His voice has kept him at the top of the go-go scene for over 20 years. Go-Go fans instantly recognize his raspy voice and intuitive raps.
With musical influences from his father, Frank Harley (deceased), Benny's first musical instrument happened to be the guitar. He later received a horn as a present from his mother and go-go history was born from there.
Benny has performed with several go-go bands over the past 20 years, from Rare Essence to Chuck Brown to Proper Utensils to his own groups, Little Benny and The Master to The Legends of Go-Go to Little Benny The Rockers. He can be found these days on guest appearances with the legendary Rare Essence band and the Sound Proof band. Jazz band, Spur of the Moment, has also been featuring Lil' Benny as of late.
