Hi,
I would like to comment here even though I don't have technical answers. I use
an M-audio anniversary 2 x 2 (which is midiman). It is imperative to use the
latest driver for your operating system. I have had best sucess with XP with any
music work I have done so I never use Vista for anything if I can help it.
I had many frustrating hours trying to get LS to work. However... I did
suceed.I am using LS with a Ketron SD-2. I am using only one set of the 2 midi
ports available on the midi interface.I am using it for both the LS
accompianment instruments as well as 3 solo instruments simultaneously. Since I
play accordion the bass, chord and treble keboard are each a separate
instrument. Also the chord section of the accordion changes the chords for LS.
In addition I have keys on the treble keyboard assigned to change funcions in LS
such as breaks, fills, octave selection, call up screens to mute instruments, etc.
I sometimes also use a foot controller to control other options in LS. When I
originally had a midi interface that would not do the job and I had many
problems. After I got my current midi interface and finally used the latest
drivers many problems went away.
Another tip is to uncheck the box that says to save changes on exiting
progrm. When you are experimenting with what works and what does not crashes wil
leave you with unpredictable configurations. I have noticed that this box
automatically rechecks itself and you must uncheck it.
A last suggestion is to be careful of what styles you use. LS is designed to
use styles from many different authors for different arranger keyboards. I would
stick with some of the provided styles until you learn more about the program.
Any particular arranger keyboard
Norbert has been very good about helping to solve problems that are not of his
making. LS is EXTREMLELY versatile and therfore is often complicated. Any
particular arranger keyboard does not have to deal with various, computers,
operating systems, sound modules, configurations, etc. IMHO it is a long road
but well worth the trouble.
I also was frustrated when using the demo. I gave up a couple of times. Even
after I bought the full version I gave up a couple of times. I could find
nothing else that would do whatever I wanted and eventually learned my way
around this program.I'm glad I did.
Just tryin' to help,
