Loudon Itinerary - another date / Rufus documentary   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #7794 of 7989 |
Hi

Nice to *finally* get the UK dates listed at long last on the Itinerary,
even if it took 4 months to get a response from the people who run the
Loudon website. Ron did a wonderful job for many years but since it was
taken over a few years ago, I have no idea who runs it, as emails are NEVER
answered. A bit of courtesy goes a long way. They should not forget that
if it was not for fans who buy Loudon's albums and concert tickets that they
would not have the job.

I am looking forward to Trowbridge as it will be exactly 30 years since my
first Loudon concert which was back in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Loudon
visited Belfast regularly year after year throughout the worst of the
Troubles, whilst scores of other artists stayed away or just went to Dublin
which was 100 miles south and 'safely' over the Irish border.

Here's another date for the Itinerary - a big publicity day on August 1st
with Loudon and many other musicians.

On another note, BBC's Rufus Wainwright 55 minute documentary was
EXCELLENT. An earlier documentary about Rufus - 'All I Want' - did not
feature Loudon at all for some unexplained reason. This one had Loudon
featured throughout, smiling, joking and chatting a lot about Rufus. He
seemed very proud of what Rufus had achieved. There was a lot of home
movies of Rufus and Martha and extensive interviews with them as well as
Kate and Anna McGarrigle. The opera is called Prima Donna and opens this
Friday in Manchester for 7 performances between Friday 10th and Sunday
19th. I am told that Loudon will be attending a performance.
