Loudon Wainwright III previews Poole disc at Country Hall *
Friday, July 10, 2009* – Loudon Wainwright III will preview his new disc
focusing on 1920s and '30s banjo man Charlie Poole at the Country Music Hall
of Fame in Nashville on Aug. 1.
Wainwright has long been fascinated by the North Carolina Ramblers band
leader, moonshiner and all around raconteur and explores his life and times
on the new album "High Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project," out Aug.
18 on 2nd Story Sound Records. Multi-instrumentalists Chaim Tannenbaum
(banjo, guitar, harmonica) and David Mansfield (violin, mandolin, slide
guitar; Bob Dylan, Ry Cooder, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams) will accompany
Wainwright.
