About Bharatanatyam
Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest dance forms of India. It is a traditiona=
l dance form
known for its grace, purity, tenderness, and statuesque poses. Bharatanatya=
m
combines rhythmic movements, expressions of emotion as well as dramatic ele=
ments
to present a complete story or episode. Bharatanatyam aims to draw humans a=
way
from crude emotions like jealousy and anger to a realm filled with devotion=
and love
by using emotive expressions (Bhaava), melody (Raaga) and rhythm (Taala).
About Bharatanjali
Bharatanjali was formed in 1994 and has had over 500 performances under the=
able
leadership of their director, B. Bhanumati. They have performed at numerous=
venues
throughout India, the US and UK. Bharatanjali has received popular and crit=
ical
