TAMALYN DALLAL BIOGRAPHY
------------------------------------------
Performer, choreographer, teacher and author Tamalyn Dallal (Miami,
FL) began belly dancing in 1976. She has performed for international
audiences, including many celebrities and dignitaries, such as
Madonna, the Jacksons, members of the Saudi Arabian royal families,
King Abdullah of Jordan, and Francisco Flores (president of El
Salvador). She is founder of the non-profit arts organization, Mid
Eastern Dance Exchange of Miami Beach. Winner of multiple dance
award, Tamalyn Dallal teaches and performs throughout the world.
In 13 years of teaching, she has helped train many of the top names
in Oriental dance to come out of the Miami area: Amar Gamal
(Massachusetts), Yasmine (New York), Bozenka (Florida), Shahar,
Aireen, Hanan, Feiruz, Virginia, Samay, Maja and others. She has
been a driving force behind making Miami one of the hottest spots
for belly dance in the U.S.
Known for her exquisite dancing, outstanding professionalism,
amazing creativity and superb teaching, Tamalyn was recently invited
by Raqia Hassan to teach at the 2005 Ahlan Wa Sahlan festival in
Egypt. The festival is the world's largest belly dance convention,
with more than 700 participants from around the globe.
Part of the original "Belly Dance Superstars", Tamalyn is featured
on the first "Belly Dance Superstars" CD and DVD. She has also
produced two instructional videos of her own, and a series of
educational TV shows. Tamalyn is the author of two feature-length
screen plays, a series of belly dance travel-adventure books,
and "Belly Dancing for Fitness", due for release in September, 2004.
