Khaleejy Dance Choreography and Technique

Kay Hardy Campbelllives near Boston, where she plays the `ud and
teaches the women's dances of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf (the Khaleej).
She lived in Saudi Arabia for eight years studying the dances and
music of the Gulf region. She took the opportunity to be invited to
women's gatherings and participate in their dance and music. Kay
currently writes on Gulf women's dance and music for Saudi Aramco World.

Arabic Drumming
1:15 - 3:15 pm $40.00
Susu Pampaninis well known for her virtuosic Arabic drumming and is
one of few female Middle Eastern drummers respected by the Arabic
professional music community. She grew up hearing Arabic music – her
mother is Amina Goodyear of San Francisco, a longtime teacher and
performer of Middle Eastern music. Her CDs include Susu and the Cairo
Cats and Hands of Time. Bring a drum. Open to all levels of skill.
