Oasis Dance Camp features internationally acclaimed dance artist,
Cassandra, artistic director of Jawaahir Dance Company, Minneapolis, and
special guest artist Habiba of Philadelphia. Dancers of all levels —
beginner through professional — will enjoy four days of dance
classes and camaraderie.Cassandra's technique and choreography
classes along with Habiba's classes in Tunisian dances will elevate
your dance to a new level! Additional activities include: Henna party,
Video night, drum classes, participant show, fashion show, and impromptu
skits, all combine into four days that will leave you inspired and
invigorated.



New in 2008: Dance Camp - No Experience Necessary

So you want to come to Oasis but you're just starting out in the
dance, or you've always wanted to learn but you haven't gotten
to that first class yet, or your best friend has always wanted to try it
since you love it so much, here is the opportunity to meet each of those
needs!

Beginning with this camp season Oasis will offer Learn the Basics
classes for the beginning student! These classes will be taught by
Zulaika (Patricia Auch), formerly of Minneapolis, who will lead this
group through four days of personalized basic training in the Oriental
Dance including a short choreographed dance. You may arrive a newbie but
you'll leave dancing!





North: September 10-14, 2008: Traverse City, Michigan

West: October 8-12, 2008: Vashon Island, Washington

Morocco: November 3-18, 2008: Marrakech, Morocco

South: January 21-25, 2009: Jekyll Island, Georgia



September 10-14, 2008 Oasis Dance Camp North, Traverse City, Michigan,
24th Annual Camp featuring Cassandra with guest teacher Habiba and
percussion with Nicole LeCorgne. Nestled in a setting of woods and
lakes, Oasis is held at a rural camp outside Traverse City with clean,
modern, heated facilities.

October 8-12, 2008, Oasis Dance Camp West, Vashon Island, Washington,
featuring Cassandra with guest teacher Habiba. Nestled in a setting of
tall fir trees and a beautiful vista of Puget Sound, Oasis is held at a
rural camp on Vashon Island with clean, modern, heated facilities.

November 3-18, 2008 Third Oasis Dance Camp Marrakech, one week dance
intensive with Cassandra in Marrakech followed by a week touring
Morocco. Featuring Cassandra with percussionist Nicole LeCorgne, Oasis
Marrakech is located in the heart of the medina, Al Jazira Riad is your
private guesthouse to dance, play, and be entertained for a week—
then off for a weeklong tour exploring the heart of Morocco and its
diverse arts and culture!(A program for non-dancing spouses or friends
is possible for the week of camp.)

Dancers of all levels will enjoy four days of dance classes and
