A Bogus Age
Quibble over temporal minutiae? Or waste one scrumptious
butterscotch nanosecond in useless quantification of any sort?
Never.
So when she, by whom I of course mean Mandy Moore, was seen getting
her colloquial groove on at various drinky local venues last weekish
in the company of other also notably probably not really 23-year-old
film stars, and then promptly turns around and says silly things
like, "I'm the most boring 20-year-old you'll ever meet," on various
national late-night talk shows (and I'll SAY David Letterman when I
see a fucking CHECK from David Letterman)... well.
And if sources official-ish confirm the date of Mandy's nativity to
be a very 20-ish April 10, 1984, and that information conflicts
somehow with that of bar managers who, when asked, swore boozily
that Mandy's ID--legitimate or otherwise--put her in the ballpark of
a hale and elderly 23, then it becomes ever clearer that the only
way we'll ever get to the bottom of things, naturally, is to cut her
in half and count the goddamn rings.
Oh. And, "It is sort of a bogus age," Mandy just reportedly said
about something else entirely, which in no way lessens the
statement's ironic impact when considered in this particular
context.
