Digital Dish Diva says:
Welcome to MSN Live! This afternoon we are very pleased to welcome
Mandy Moore back to MSN Live to talk about her new film "Saved!"
Digital Dish Diva says:
Please help me welcome back Mandy Moore.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Mandy, welcome back. It's great to see you again! How've you been?
Mandy Moore says:
Oh my gosh. I've been great, happy. Life is good!
Digital Dish Diva says:
Well, I have to tell you and I think you know that I LOVED "Saved!"
Mandy Moore says:
Thank you so much!
Digital Dish Diva says:
What kind of reaction are you getting from fans for "Saved!"?
Mandy Moore says:
I'm really proud of the movie so it's just exciting to have that
buzz out there and to have people come up to you and say they love
the movie since it's not out there yet. It's going wide on Friday.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Tell us a little about Hilary Faye.
Digital Dish Diva says:
I know you've never heard that question before. :
Mandy Moore says:
Mac and I are doing a tour this week and we get that question a lot.
She's sweet and overzealous and steadfast in her religious beliefs
and using her faith as an excuse for her actions and manipulation of
her friends. It was fun to play the bad girl.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Let's talk a bit about working with Macaulay Culkin. What is he
really like?
Mandy Moore says:
Mac, having had all the success he's had in his life could be any
number of things, but he couldn't be more down to earth and he has
the most wicked sense of humor. He was cracking us up on the set all
the time.
Digital Dish Diva says:
When I spoke with you and the cast last month you told me about
throwing things off the balcony. Can you tell the fans about this?
Mandy Moore says:
(laughs) It started with Patrick teaching me how to spit and slowly
evolved into throwing marshmallows and dumplings. It was fun and
silly and we were acting like 4th graders and it was fun to see if
we could hit the targets we wanted to.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Let's see what the audience is asking.
gailkitty in Onstage_1 asks:
What do you mean by "it's going wide on Friday"?
Mandy Moore says:
"Saved" is only in about 20 theaters right now and on Friday it will
be in about 600, so it will be released to a wider audience.
banglebabe1 in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy, I love your new website design at www.mandymoore.com and the
official infopop message board on it. It's all really cool. My
question is, how scary or exciting is it to be signed to a new
record label?
Mandy Moore says:
I am super excited to be at a place where people are excited to have
me and to feel a part of a team. I'm curious and excited to see how
the last record will influence the music I'll be recording in the
future.
Mandy Moore says:
I'm on Sire Warner Brothers.
banglebabe1 in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy, what musical direction are you planning on going in for your
next CD?
Mandy Moore says:
I think it's going to continue in the same vein as the last record.
I've been writing music with friends and I'm excited to sing my own
words. I feel I have something to write about and say.
mmooreNET in Onstage_1 asks:
Will "Saved!" be released in Canada?
Mandy Moore says:
I'm sure it will be if it's not already. I think we've done
interviews with Canadian cities which leads me to believe it's going
to be released there. Depending on how the movie does, will
determine how many theaters it will be released in.
RisingOnline in Onstage_1 asks:
Hey, I'm Raul. I'm from Barcelona (Spain). Mandy, if you had to
choose a character of your movies (Lana, Jamie, Haily, Anna, Hilary)
that was looked more like your personality, what would you choose?
Perhaps to none of them in fact.
""Bare"Naked"Girl"" in Onstage_1 asks:
I think you're an amazing singer and actress, and I just wanted to
say I love you you're my idol. You're such an inspiration for young
girls!
Mandy Moore says:
I would like to think that I have a bit of Jamie, Halley and Anna, a
little of all three.
ThenaThenaBoBena in Onstage_1 asks:
Hey Mandy! When will the "Saved!" soundtrack be out?
Mandy Moore says:
If the movie continues to go well they have batted around the idea
of a soundtrack which is great because the music is stellar.
Digital Dish Diva says:
I hope there will be. The music is awesome.
Angelis4Christ in Onstage_1 asks:
How do you feel about being considered a role model or having people
look up to you? We are actually the same age and I look up to you.
Is does that weird you out?
Mandy Moore says:
It doesn't weird me out at all. I'm so flattered and taken aback
that people look up to me and what I've accomplished. I take every
day, day by day and not take it for granted.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Is there pressure being a role model? Do you always have to watch
what you are doing?
Mandy Moore says:
I think, obviously, a certain amount of responsibility comes with it
and you keep that in the back of your mind, but I don't let it
dictate my life and what you see is what you get. I guess I'm just
lucky in that sense.
MrsShaneWest04 in Onstage_1 asks:
Hi Mandy, I'm Serena and I'm your number 1 fan in Italy! I was
wondering if you are planning a European trip anytime soon and if
you think your next album will be released over here too? Thank you!
Mandy Moore says:
There's no trip to Europe planned right now. The next record will
definitely be released in Europe and I'll tour as well.
tracyjeffultraspy in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy, were you a dork in middle school?
Mandy Moore says:
YES! And I'm still a dork, I'm a proud geek.
Digital Dish Diva says:
That is so hard to believe. (laughs)
Digital Dish Diva says:
Every time I meet you you are so well put together.
Mandy Moore says:
ME?! Oh gosh. Visit me on a regular day, like today. I'm sitting in
sweat pants. (laughs)
dammitzthien in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy! You rock my socks! Do you find comfort in watching movies by
yourself? I personally enjoy it, as tacky as it may seem. It's good
to have time ALONE after taking a final exam or working an 8 hour
shift!
Mandy Moore says:
I love spending time by myself. I used to be really fearful of it
but I have this new chapter of my life unfold over the last few
months and I feel more confident and more like a woman. It's a
really good time and I think it comes from spending time with myself
and getting to know myself better, as cheesy as it sounds. (laughs)
mynameisnotfunn in Onstage_1 asks:
What should we expect from "Romance and Cigarettes"? Do you play a
villain? Is it a musical flick?
Mandy Moore says:
It's a musical. I play the daughter of Susan Sarandon and James
Gandolfini. It's not a huge part, I get engaged and the movie isn't
really about me but what a great experience to work with John
Turturro and the rest of the cast and take a little away with me.
CLUTCHXR in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy how are your puppy dogs doing?
Mandy Moore says:
My doggies are good!! They are in L.A. right now and I miss them.
They are good. They are good boys.
MegaMan22_2004 in Onstage_1 asks:
Hi Mandy, I'm Travis from Florida. When I grow up, I wanna become
just like you. What is it like to become a singer?
Mandy Moore says:
Thank you very much. It's amazing to have all the opportunities I've
been lucky enough to have with music and film. You just roll with
the punches. It's not all been icing on the cake but everything
happens for a reason.
iamcurse10 in Onstage_1 asks:
Hey, Mandy...I hear Michael Stipe is kinda grouchy. Is this true? I
certainly hope not.
Mandy Moore says:
He's not grouchy at all! He's a great man and he has great taste in
films. It was fun to have him around on set. I've only seen his
passionate and wonderful side. He's so intelligent and hip and
always knows what's happening.
Litrocken1 in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy, which movie character did you enjoy playing most of all?
Mandy Moore says:
I would have to say I had a lot of fun playing Hilary Faye and Jamie
in "A Walk To Remember."
tracyjeffultraspy in Onstage_1 asks:
Sounds to me like the movie is pointing a finger at artificial
Christianity. Is it true?
Mandy Moore says:
It is pointing a finger at hypocrisy. I think the film is sweet and
has a good Christian message. I think people need to realize there's
a good message and no finger pointing.
ForêvêrFålling in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy, are all the songs you write, from personal experiences?
Mandy Moore says:
Yes. 100%
Zekkus1 in Onstage_1 asks:
I was wondering how often you travel and what were some of your
favorite places in the world to go?
Mandy Moore says:
I travel a little for work. I love Australia and I love London as
well.
Digital Dish Diva says:
If you had one day to do anything you'd like what would be your
ideal day?
Mandy Moore says:
That can change on a daily basis but today it would consist of being
near water, the beach or lake, being in warm weather and people I
love. And being spontaneous--hiking, sky diving, or crafts outside
(laughs).
Mandy Moore says:
It's really warm today but beautiful.
italianhendrix in Onstage_1 asks:
Mandy, how do you deal with not having any privacy?
Mandy Moore says:
I feel like I have a lot of privacy. It's not something I think
about too often. I feel like I'm lucky to be left alone in a sense
and I'm not in the tabloids.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Is there a place where they leave you alone the most?
Mandy Moore says:
Anywhere really outside of L.A. isn't bad. There are bits of New
York you expect it but in L.A. they will follow you everywhere. I
saw a picture of my house on the internet the other day. It was the
one thing I didn't want to happen.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Is it surreal when you see yourself on a tabloid?
Mandy Moore says:
It's surreal because most of what they write is untrue. When it has
to do with your personal life and it's untrue and you want to speak
out, it gives them satisfaction and it's something I've had to deal
with the last few months and I'm doing ok. You live and learn.
ICEIBLUE in Onstage_1 asks:
What was it like to work with such a great cast?
Digital Dish Diva says:
Eva was incredible.
Mandy Moore says:
Oh my gosh. Everybody in the movie is just unbelievable from Jena,
to Eva, to Patrick, to Mac. One of the reasons I wanted to do this
was for the amazing cast and what I could learn from them.
BabyLove80JR in Onstage_1 asks:
Hey Mandy, can you tell us a little bit about your new clothing
line, MBlem?
Mandy Moore says:
Thanks. It's something small and quiet that I didn't expect to come
out because it's not like a J. Lo line. I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl
and have been searching for the perfect t-shirt so they will be
plain with small things on them like my favorite lyrics and they'll
be making their way to the stores in the next few weeks.
Digital Dish Diva says:
What are some of your favorite lines?
Mandy Moore says:
"Hard to get by on a smile." and "Gonna getcha getcha getcha." It's
fun to do and I did it selfishly because I wanted them for myself
and some of the profits will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Mandy, what are some of your favorite songs?
Mandy Moore says:
It's constantly changing. "Last Goodbye" by Jeff Buckley
and "Nobody's Crying". . . (I'm checking my iPod) "Another White
Dash" and "Free Man in Paris" by Joni Mitchell and "It's Too Late."
Mandy Moore says:
That's what I've been listening to the last little bit.
Digital Dish Diva says:
Well, Mandy, that is all the time we have for today. From all of us
here at MSN Live, thanks for chatting with fans about "Saved!" Go
see "Saved!" this weekend.
Mandy Moore says:
Thank you so much for you continuing support. I hope you'll go
see "Saved!" because I think it's an important film to go see. Visit
