Singing Inanna into the Twenty-First Century…
An informal gathering…
with Jocelyn Chaplin and Jenni Roditi at The Loft, Crouch End. N8.
27th September 2009, 12pm – 5pm. £10 suggested donation, plus bring lunch to share.
Following Jenni’s opera performance of the Inanna story on August 24th and Jocelyn’s exhibition of paintings on the Inanna theme, both at the Arcola Theatre, London, we are hosting an open house event.
Come and join us, share your experience of the Inanna story in your own life or, learn more about this powerful myth that speaks to us of healing through transformation. We will do some simple vocal work as part of this event.
The Inanna story speaks to us on many levels with archetypal characters - the innocent, the creative, the celebrity, the wounded one, the wrathful fury, the foolish cavalier, the sacrificial saint, the betrayer/the betrayed and so forth.
At this time of human transition we need Inanna's wisdom - the alternating rhythms and acceptance of all the opposites - more than ever.
