>Frame Drum Intensive
>Develop skill, learn rhythms, drum from your spontaneous self. Ensemble
playing integrating harp (with my sister Irene Ryding!), flute, voice, and
multiple drum parts will be the focus of this sound retreat. Tars and
tambourines will be highlighted ... other frame drums as appropriate integrated.

>Songs of Devotion
>Daily mantra, chants, sounds, and songs from sacred vocal traditions around the
world (Hindu, Persian, Native Americas, ...). Open the heart, still the
chatter, expand in love and devotion. Feel the transformative power of your own
voice ... join with other voices to lift our spirits!

>LOCATION: Our workshop time each day will take place at my sister's beautiful
ohana in Haiku, on the northeast side of Maui, close to the famous Hana Highway
and beautiful beaches. Waterfalls, hiking trails, opportunities to go out to
the atolls, whale watch, swim, discover Maui will abound. Maui is a small
island, and can be navigated easily. It is home to:

>v Waianapanapa State Park with its heiaus (sacred stone sites), black sand
beach, natural stone arches and blow holes
>v Iao Valley State Park, with its easy walking trails, the Iao Needle,
botanical gardens and so much beauty and richness of culture and spirit
>v Haleakala Volcanic site, heaven above the clouds
>v Historic Lahaina, ancient whaling capital of the islands, and home to
“ULALENA”
>v Beaches, sea turtles, snorkelling, boating, resting, waterfalls, sacred
pools, caves
>v And so much more!

>FEE: $600, includes the workshop fees and five meals (dinners). All lodging,
other meals and attractions are up to you! We will gather for a minimum of five
hours per day, from 3:30-9 pm, which allows you the daylight hours sight see,
rest, swim, and decide your own days' activities. Co-created community
activities as desired! $50 discount if fees paid in full by December 20th.
