Dear Friends,
As promised in my last email the bonus track to the new CD is now available here. Please note: it is not on the CD, only as a download.
Wynken Blynken and Nod, a poem written by Eugene Field and set to music by Lucy Simon, is a song I used to sing to my daughter, Linnea, when she was going to bed. We began performing it together and the response was so positive we recorded it. As I always say, when it comes to singing with Linnea: I'll sing with her for as long as she'll let me.
The CD, Last Trip Home, will be available the Monday after Thanksgiving.
I'll be on Brian O'Donovan's A Celtic Soujourn Saturday Nov. 28, sometime between 12-3 on WGBH radio 89.7FM, talking about, and playing from, Last Trip Home.
I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Best wishes,
David.

Some time next week I hope to upload another song, Wynken, Blynken, and Nod which is not on the CD but will be available for download as a bonus track.
I apologize if you're receiving multiple emails. I'm trying to manage the lists but it's not my forte.
I hope you enjoy the CD. I certainly enjoyed recording it!

These may be of interest to some of you, and they should be a lot of fun.

"Anabel Graetz has been working with singers and non-singers since the early seventies. Her “Songs for Non-Singers” course at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education was a favorite for more than 25 years. She is the artistic Director and founder of Light & Song, Inc. and of Laduvane, (Lah-DOO-vah-neh) a women’s Balkan music ensemble that performed during the seventies. She is currently half of The Proper Ladies, a duo performing Victorian Parlour songs. In addition to extensive training in Bel Canto, (teachers include Mdme. Emilia Ippolitto, Lorraine DiGregorio, Antonia Lavanne and Olga Averino), she studied vocal techniques on a Fulbright Fellowship in Bulgaria in 1987. She has helped thousands of people conquer the fear of singing."

She's also a co-founder (w/ Lynn and myself) of the Skellig Song Session, and my voice teacher.

Subject: December Voice Workshops

Two Voice Workshops on Saturday, December 5.  Regular classes will begin in January.

For the past several months, I have been casting around for the ideal place to begin voice classes once again.  After a few false starts, I have found an ideal situation:  Lau Lapides has established a new center for performers in Wellesley: The Lau Lapides Company.

Lau has taken an old Victorian house and remodeled it into studios, kitchen, green room and library.  It has all of the assets I looked for in a place to teach: a warm, homey room with windows and excellent acoustics; a comfortable place to rest before and after class; a kitchen that enables one to prepare a cup of tea (or Joe) to keep nearby during class and, even more important, a group of warm, friendly actors and performers already on board.

I can't wait!!  So, I hope you'll attend; come by to our open house (more on that anon), and pass this info on to your friends!

Thread tiny cameras through the singer's noses and focus on the larynx. Then
have them sing harmony and see what it looks like deep inside. Yes, that's
really what this is.
