this is an unstructured and unfacilitated circle - - " we be jammin'"
the circle is open to all, however we recommend you bring a percussion
instrument. we meet every monday night from 8:00 to 9:30
parking meters are in effect untill 9:00. the sidestreets in hoboken
are designated :
"resident only"-green signs with white letters - NO PARKING
or
"non-resident"-white signs w/ green letters: parking is allowed
DIRECTIONS:
FROM NORTHERN/WESTERN NEW JERSEY, take New Jersey Turnpike to Route 3 to 495 (approach to Lincoln Tunnel); get in right lane, and take last exit before tunnel ("Hoboken/Weehawken"); after exiting, get in right lane,
go to end,then turn right onto Boulevard East (you'll be heading
south);
continue on Boulevard East (PAST Lincoln Tunnel) to 14th St.; turn left
onto 14th, go three blocks, turn right onto Washington St.; symposia is
between 5 th and 6th streets.
FROM SOUTHERN/WESTERN NEW JERSEY, take Routes 1&9 or Route 78 towards Holland Tunnel; make your first left onto Jersey Ave.; proceed under train trestle, and turn right onto Newark Ave (which runs into Observer
Highway); turn left onto Washington St.; go six blocks,
FROM NEW YORK, JERSEY CITY, OR BAYONNE, take PATH or NJ Transit Light Rail to Hoboken Terminal; take a Washington St. bus from terminal, or
walk (about seven blocks) to Washington and 5th.

CHATHAM DRUM CIRCLE & SACRED CIRCLE OF SOUND; CHATHAM, NJ

Description: On-going monthly drum and sacred sound circle open to all.
Everyone is welcome whether you make music, dance, or just listen.

Come explore drumming and percussion in a meditative atmosphere of fun, openness and spirituality where beginners are welcome and everyone (including musicians) have a great time. No musical training is necessary! We supply drums, but you are encouraged to bring your own drums and percussion instruments.
When drumming, everyone in the group can communicate at the same time by listening and responding sensitively, generating a joyous feeling of unity and power. This is our fifth year, and we really have fun!!
DIRECTIONS: Garden State Pkway exit 151 (Watchung Ave.); take Watchung Ave. west towards Bloomfield/Montclair (not towards Nutley); go about one mile, go under the railroad trestle and make immediate left (south) onto Park St.; go about 1 mile and turn left (east) at light onto Bloomfield Ave; make next right (south) at light onto South Fullerton Ave; make second right onto Plymouth (just past First Congregrational Church--big building); immediately (just past the church) turn right into the small parking lot behind the church; go up the outside stairs to the 2nd floor.
