This is an email list devoted to promoting improvised music in the NYC metro area. All activities with an involvement in improvised music, be they club gig or concert, seminar or discussion group. Each are fodder for the NYC-Improv list.

If you are interested in improvised music with a world beat, world music, new music, a jazz orientation, or whatever orientation you imagine is productive or creative, interesting even, then this might be the list for you to join.

In case I forgot to make it clear, welcome all.

(But... now that I am no longer filtering members before hand, if you join this list to post irrelevant postings or links, I will summarily remove you, your posts, and ban your as*. There will be no warnings.

The criteria for irrelevance? I will make them up as things progress, it being a constantly changing and developing marketplace of useless crap and annoying people after all. But I'll start with the p*rn postings and dating sites that I see on many lists. None were relevant.
