Re: [NZbbshop] Pride of Auckland

Hi Richard,
Yes, Pride of Auckland is sounding quite good. I was listening to them this
weekend at the Rakino Jazz Festival. They have a big sound and natural
presentation. They are directed by Brian Lee. The chorus is not a splinter from
COS. It's not like the Vocal FX model. It's also not a youth chorus, but a
general chorus - it has some members in it that enjoy singing in both COS and
POA.

This years convention will be held 22-24 September. Four Voices are booked in as
guest quartet.

Also, a new NZ quartet has formed this year called Overdrive, who are aiming for
top 7.

Andrew

Subject: [NZbbshop] Pride of Auckland

Hello all,
Just noticed link on the Plainsmen website to the new Pride of Auckland
Chorus website.
Sounds exciting! How new is it? How many members? Splinter from CoS
or whole new group, or like the Vocal FX model, or what?

Also, anyone got any updates on this year's convention? Guest
quartet? Schedule?

Feeling a little removed from the action!

Cheers,
Richard Harker (currently in Cincinnati)
