RE: [NZbbshop] Pride of Auckland

Thanks Brian, glad to hear you are still into barbershopping and now in
a bigger way... Hope all goes well with "Pride of Auckland".

Yes we dragged a few of the old fellas up another notch for the contest.
Getting old myself . . . . My 32nd year in BBS this month and just
found out I'm going to be a grandfather by November, all going well!!

Still taking Hamilton and Tauranga, and both choruses are keen to
compete together again. Had a guest evening in Hamilton, gained 13 good
singers out of 15 that turned up, so we're happy. We could have 70 on
stage this year.

Having a guest evening in Tauranga on 1st of May if you're not doing
anything.

Cheers
Gary

Hi Richard,

I know that 4 Voices will be the guest quartet in Akld and that a
Newsletter will be coming out shortly regarding the convention.

Don't know much about Pride of Akld except that Brian Lee is directing
and there's a $50 fee to apply to join!! Mostly young guys at present.

Cheers
Gary

Hello all,
Just noticed link on the Plainsmen website to the new Pride of Auckland
Chorus website.
Sounds exciting! How new is it? How many members? Splinter from CoS
or whole new group, or like the Vocal FX model, or what?

Also, anyone got any updates on this year's convention? Guest
quartet? Schedule?

Feeling a little removed from the action!

Cheers,
Richard Harker (currently in Cincinnati)
