Hi All,
Angela here from the Greater Auckland Chorus
(www.greateraucklandchorus.com). Just thought I'd let you all know
the results of the 2006 Auckland Regional YSIH competition.
The infamous 'Auckland Blackout' that has graced the front pages of
your newspapers took place the same day we had our regional
competition... so while a quarter of New Zealand's population came
to a halt, 500-odd students, music educators, judges and volunteers
from the City Of Sails and Greater Auckland Choruses carried on with
the competition anyway! Without lights, mics, proper audience
seating or any frills!
The results are available as a PDF in the 'FILES' section (I'm
assuming I have the privilege of uploading a file!). I'd just like
to mention that BRIAN LEE's chorus ("Mr. G's Boys Chorus") has been
awarded FIRST PLACE again in 2006 - continuing their winning
streak! Also of note is the winning Under-25 male quartet (also
coached by Brian), obviously the best quartet on the day and will
hopefully be able to time out to represent Auckland at the Nationals!
Cheers :)
Ang
