RE: [NZbbshop] Cellmates Quartet

Again. I agree a "No Show" is not on.. That is why I said they should
at least have informed the organizers that they could not do it.

In Melbourne my quartet didn't expect to make the finals - with a new
Bass etc - so we only had two songs ready.. We grabbed Chorus songs
for our second set (obvious by the scoring) and ended up Bronze
Medallists.

Again the 4 song rule might be OK but realistically there are a lotta
quartets that sing in this grade and don't have 4 songs ready.

Mind you a firm reminder of the rule to the applicants would be a good
idea.

In this particular case, by Cellmates not showing, they denied two
quartets who were equal next in line the opportunity to perform their
second set of songs. There has to be a penalty for this type of
action??? Also, it is clearly stated in the contest rules that
quartets
competing in the Open competition need to have four songs prepared,
so I don't accept the excuse when they have only two. OK it is fair
enough to scratch up a couple of Polecats or something but to just no-
show, that is not on.
