Please join me in welcoming newest member Keith Vivens! Keith is
the base guitarist and vocalist who MC'd the Unity Jam last night
(which was a BLAST by the way!). He is also head of (I think that's
what he said) the Houston Musician's Union (Keith PLEASE correct me
if I'm wrong) and is quite jazzed about getting involved with our
NTMA-H (pun intended; he's a jazz player). On Sundays, Keith plays in the band
at Unity Pyramid @9:am and 11:am.

Keith was voted "Best Bass Player in Houston," 1998, by the critics
poll in Public News Magazine.
Keith has performed and recorded with such artists as Howard Hewitt,
Bobby Lyle, Harvey Mason, Ricky Lawson, Everrete Harp, Kirk Whalum,
Mindi Abair, Branford Marsalis, The Duke Ellington Orchestra, Randy
& Michael Brecker, Joe Henderson, Joe Lavano & Grammy Award
Winning "La Mafia", Scott Gertner Band, TKOH, The Franchise, Stanley
Turlentine, Les McCaan, Carl Fontana, Ben Vereen,
Dwight Sills, V. Michael McKay, Larry Correal, Little Joe
Hernandez, The Drifters, The Coasters,
The Marvelettes, and Dianne Carroll. Keith studied under legendary
bassist Carol Kaye.
Keith Vivens currently plays all over town in many different bands.
He also has a passion for playing with Solar Wind, a Jazz/Fusion
band which will be featuring Keith on their their 3rd CD, which they
are in the process of recording. The CD should be released by summer
