CC: NTMA Members - I'm forwarding this correspondance for the whole group's
benefit: Church with Guest Musician Opportunities READ ON!!!

Hi Dana,

So glad to hear from you! Wow what great things you are doing. I know and love
Greg Tamblyn and Richard Mekdeci both! How

I will put you on the group list for the New Thought Musician's Alliance. I've
had a feeling that it would grow past Houston and probably past Texas to the US
since I started it, and you will be our first person outside of Houston (besides
Wanda who I just discovered moved up there!) The NTMA is a networking, support
and education group for musicians, music/choir directors, soloists, songwriters,
etc who are into positive, Spiritual, transformational type music, or who want
to have greater access to playing at New Thought churches. We have people from
Unity, Religious Science, Unitarian Universalist,Metaphysics in general, and
Traditional Christian background, as well as Sound Healers, etc. plus musician's
who just want increased gigs wherever they may be! The purpose of the group is
to help the members grow musically through networking, shared opportunities,
exposure, and education and to help raise public awareness of New
Thought/Positive music as a genre in public
consciousness. Helping to promote New Thought musicians and music is a passion
of mine!!!!! Our planning committee will meet in December to plan various events
such as speakers, combined choir concerts, jam sessions, fundraisers,
songwriting support, conferences etc. for 2006 and beyond.

I will share with the group your wonderful projects and website info, as well as
your desire for guest musicians so that everyone can share in the opportunity.
There are some members who I know for sure tour beyond Houston who's names I
will pass along to you:

I would love to come to San Antonio and sing at your church, as I am a
travelling New Thought musician who does just that! I make the curcuit of Unity
and Religious Science churches and large conferences, and I am also Music
Director of the Unity church here in The Woodlands (suburb just above Houston).
I can send you either electronic or hardcopy press kit and cd if you like, and
you can also see my website-under-construction at www.shannonmodrell.com

So glad to have made contact with you,
Blessings,
Shannon Modrell

Shannon--

Wanda forwarded info to me about the New Thought Music group in Houston. This
sounds really interesting! I am music director at the Unity Church of San
Antonio. At the first of this year I produced a compilation CD on the theme of
peace using singer/songwriters from San Antonio and Austin. We used it for a
fund raiser for A Season for Nonviolence. In August I finished a CD of my
original tunes, and am just now finishing up another CD for A Season for
Nonviolence. Some of the artists on this second CD are: David Roth, Sue
Kroupa, Greg Tamblyn, Jim Scott, Mad Agnes, Todd Hoke, Richard Mekdeci, James
Durst, Freebo.

I would like to be informed about what you're doing in Houston. We are always
looking for guest musicians at Unity. We have three services each Sunday
morning. Guest artists do two songs at each service (the same two), and we pay
$125. Might be a handy gig for folks passing through town.

Anyway--keep me informed. Always good to network with others who do what I do.

To check out the first CD for SNV, go to cdbaby.com/cd/increasethepeace.
To check out my CD, go to cdbaby.com/danaclark.

BY THE WAY--one purpose of doing the CDs for SNV was to offer them at bulk
prices for other groups to sell to raise funds for their own projects. There's
a discount for quantity purchases, down to half the selling price if you order
enough of them. The website with all that info should be up soon. I'll let you
know.

Dana Clark
