Hello New Thought Music Family!
I'm writing to tell you that I have turned the Music of the Heart Conference over to Dale Worley. Some wonderful shifts have occurred in Dale's life that will now afford him the time and energy to devote to creating a fantastic conference!
I have offered to stay on as part of the support team, but it's his baby now, and he has hinted at some great ideas percolating in his mind! I'm sure we will hear more details soon!
Those of you who attended the New Thought Songwriters Retreat got a little taste of the spirit Dale brings to any endeavor, and I know he will do an excellent job in creating an uplifting experience for all!
Thanks for all the support of those who have been a part of this process all along, and welcome to those of you who have just joined this journey!
Love,
Shannon Modrell

Unity Church of Truth in Massillon, OH, but so far have gotten no response to phone calls, emails or my press kit.
Short notice, I realize, but could anyone recommend a direct contact to a church in the Cleveland area? I'm going through my RSI, UCRS and Unity church listings but would really appreciate a dependable lead to a music director, even if just for future reference.

Music conferences are the places where you'll find the most opportunities at any one place and time. Music industry types make up the panels and are all out en force to interact with and instruct anyone seeking their advice. The challenge is holding their attention. These folks are being bombarded with material from artists all the time. It takes something special to illicit a response. Hi Shannon,
Have you chosen all your workshops yet? I recently met a woman at the Unity
church in Wimberley who is an art therapist. She shares a similar vision to mine
about helping folks to get unstuck in their artistic life. Since I first
responded to your inquiry about posible workshops, I've decided to pursue this
work regardless of whether you need the workshop at this conference (or retreat)
or not.
She is very educated and very experienced and is interested in my ideas and is
willing to mentor me and work together with me on some workshops. If you haven't
filled out your workshop shcedule yet, and you may be interested in this one,
I'll check and see if she's interested in working at this retreat.
If you put "Roberta Shoemaker Beal Art Therapist" in a search engine, you'll get
some idea of her extensive background. Plus, she's a humble, spiritual teacher
and a lovely woman.
Thanks,
Janet

(My appologies if you get this twice)
I'm sure many are wondering what's happening with the Music of the
Heart Conference. For now it is being postponed so that more
thorough research can be done into the details of planning, tax
liabilities, etc. This feels like the right decision rather than
trying to force it to unnaturally fit my timetable.
HOWEVER, rather than miss getting together entirely, I'm thinking we
should have a much less expensive SONGWRITER'S RETREAT on that
weekend: 1/2 day Friday and full day Saturday, still do a concert
for the public, and spend our time jamming together and having a
couple workshops. This feels like a great alternative to doing
nothing this year! Just because the conference is postponed doesn't
mean we can't still get together and receive tremendous benefit!
So.....I'm willing to do it if people will come. Who would be
interested? I already have a preliminary outline for activities,
but am open to your suggestions: NewThoughtMusicAlliance@...

Hi Shannon. Sorry to get back to you so late, but I couldn't remember the name
of the company we've used several times. It is Sound Recorders in Austin. They
do great work - duplicating your artwork as well as the CD's and they are as
reasonable as anyone else.

Hey Shannon and new thought people!
I am sending a big, happy hello from San Marcos. Play
the music and let the music play!
You have such an incredible energy (even felt through
cyber space) that I am anxious to make it to the
Houston area and share in the love of music and
Spirit. There are a few of us in the hill country who
are interested in modeling (or extending) the network
you have created. So, I just wanted to make contact
and say hello and hallelujah!
Keep the light on.
Namaste!
