Two of the most exciting and innovative bands to emerge from the UK's
thriving carnival scene come together for a repeat of last February's
sell-out night.

This will be Weird Attractors' first gig in Edinburgh since they packed
out the Liquid Rooms for T on the Fringe last August. Their unique
approach to live dance music had audiences jumping at festivals across the
UK during 2004 (including Brighton Festival, the Highland Festival, T in
the Park, Knockengorroch Festival and Glasgow's Merchant City Festival)
and at clubs in Hamburg, Berlin and Toulouse. After a winter of writing
new material, Weird Attractors will unveil a brand new set for 2005 at
Earshot - expect more percussion fuelled, brass infused high energy
grooves from the Edinburgh 5-piece. A new EP is also in the pipeline, due
for release later this year.

Brighton's trail-blazing breakbeat masters Carnival Collective are no
strangers to the UK festival circuit. Since last appearing at Bongo Club
the band has toured the UK and Eire playing the likes of Glastonbury,
Waterford Spraoi, Welsh Samba Encontro, Brighton Festival and Encontro
Atlantico 2004. The band has also begun a series of regular club slots
including Brighton's Beatcheck and Afrobase nights. Carnival Collective's
pioneering percussion-led sound builds on collaborations including work
with scratch DJs and new vocalists. Up to 40 performers in total, Carnival
Collective is a visual spectacle and an aural delight with brass,
electronics, bass, keyboards, costumed dancers and a full bateria of
drummers.

Limited discount tickets are on sale at Ripping Records now; full price
tickets will be available at the door on the night. All punters through
the door before 11.30 get a free shot of quality gold tequila - get in
there early as last year's event was a sell out!

Carnival Collective will also be playing at Bebado in Glasgow on Sat 12
March.
