Press Release
After the August soft launch night saw over 350 people stream through the door
for
Edinburgh’s only regular Acid House party, we knew this was going to be
something
special. The main room kicked off with innovative, low-slung and predominantly
new
school records from Count (Dinky - Acid in My Fridge, Passarani - Claiming My
Tears
Back). The ever-grinning masses began raising their hands to the sky in earnest
as
Gareth Sommerville jacked it up Chicago style (Marshall Jefferson - Move Your
Body,
the Talking Heads-sampling rare acid mix of Planet-E by KC Flight). Aphex Twin's
first Rephlex artist Mike Dred muscled in to finish them off with serious
heavyweight personal favourites and predominantly European acid and real techno
(Jam
& Spoon - Stellar, 808 State - In Your Face).

Meanwhile, in the back room, what started off as a roots, dancehall and rap
(cause
that’s what we called it back then) session morphed in to a very sweaty
breakbeat
reggae-rave from Big Toe’s HiFi, led by C-Dawg (The Ragga Twins - Hooligan 69,
Rebel
MC ft. Tenor Fly - The Wickedest Sound).

I Love Acid (& Warehouse Classics) aims to be Edinburgh’s only regular acid
house
party. The acid of the music policy is intended to leave a blank canvas for DJs
to
drop new and old tracks – as retro or forward-thinking as they want, so we can
hear
the development of the style and track the influence of the older classic
records on
new productions. The warehouse classics' part is to make sure this will not end
up
as night of non-stop, trance-inducing 4/4 – we’re going to throw in the odd
classic
hip hop track, a bit of the cream of old balearica, italo disco and even some nu
school acid-funk-punk hybrids.

school with a new album full of acid gems.

Acid house classic recently re-released on Rephlex and played out with
devastating effect.

Mr Fingers - technical ecstasy
Another acid re-release, this time with a classic Larry Heard/Mr Fingers track,
a man who has been there from the start, and a must have in this top ten!

Joey Beltram - Energy flash
the epic energy flash is a techno classic, still sounds fresh today. nuff said!

LFO - LFO
classic warehouse track from Mark Bell, there have been many imitations but
nothing can quite compare to it.

Zero is one, hail from Falkirk, mostly Larbert boys they are a poppier sounding
Biffy Clyro, a heavy handed Snow Patrol and write first class rock.
Jack Butler -back by popular demand the boys from Alloa are here to pleasure
your
ears with fine Interpol/Franz Ferdinand esque top quality songs. Firm favourites
in
the club.
Oswald - sound like Coldplay, U2, Lou Reed, James, The Manic Street Preachers,
REM
and the Stereophonics.The Oswald sound is big and melodic with lots of space -
there
are big guitar riffs, pounding, rolling drums with pumping, driving bass
grooves. In
the past the guys have performed on live TV and radio, had consistent radio
airplay,
headlined festivals (Love Geist Euro festival in Liverpool), toured the UK, and
released two EP's.

Ursula's Bikini are an Inverness based Heavy Melodic Rock Band. Members are
Voice of
an Archangel (vocals)23), Funkified Pulse Generator(bass(18), String Strangler
(guitar)(18) and Sticks of Doom (drums)(21).Two guys two gals.Combining Strong
Melodic Vocals with Heavy Melodic Guitar, Funky Bass and Driving Drums, the
sound
created by Ursula's Bikini is a diverse and dynamic one, ranging from "almost
pretty" to "mindbendingly frenzied". Already, they've supported some big
British
bands including InMe, The Ordinary Boys, X is Loaded and ThisGirl, along with
playing various other gigs like the GoHi Festival and The Highland
Festival.They
have recorded and released 1 EP.

Attica Rage are the Glasgow-based metal band who are gaining a strong reputation
fortheir live performance and powerful sound, combining the classic eras of rock
and
metal with modern energy and strength.Currently promoting their current EP ‘In
Concert with the Mirror’.

Freeview-Influenced by 90's bands like Nirvana,Pearl Jam,and Soundgarden,as well
as
more modern groups such as Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro,the band's sound can
best be
described as "a cross between grunge and hard rock,with some punk thrown in for
good
measure." Recently, Freeview have supported such acts as Kasabian,Chikinki,
Brigade,The Ga-Ga's, King Adora,The Miles Hunt Club (ex-The Wonder Stuff),
Smother,
and Sluts Of Trust,and following their first headline gig in London last
year,the
band are now hoping to increase their profile and fan base by playing further
gigs
throughout the UK in 2005.

Studio 4 is all about bringing new music into town and hearing Kenny play your
