With a musical career spanning over a decade and more than 10
full-length albums, In Gowan Ring - a project with a fluid membership
centered around enigmatic Utah-born musician B'eirth - create dark,
haunting, poetic folk music blending traditional with experimental.
Originally inspired by the music of the Troubadours and Trouvères -
the "poet-musicians" of 12th and 13th Century France, In Gowan Ring
have an instantly recognisable sound (often created with home-build
instruments), which will appeal to fans of the current "New Weird
America" of Devendra Banhart, Andrew Bird, and CocoRosie; the
post-industrial European-rooted folk music of Current 93, Forseti,
or Blood Axis; as well as older psych-folk acts such as Nick Drake
or Donovan. In Gowan Ring's music could be classed in the sub-sub-genre
of "wyrd folk", but we prefer his own description of "Archaic
Surrealism".

The debut live show from Livesciences guitarist Chris Hall (aka B-Burg)
who is joined by former right hand man Psylent-V. After a 4 year exile
we welcome back the human beat box who appears as part of a live band
for the first time since Livesciences performed in 2002. This 4 piece
will be creating live bootlegs and hip hop funk grooves using
turntables to synch accapelas over improvised breaks. "Its jazz
baby, but not as you know it".

8 months ago Alan Bryden's outfit performed a farewell gig at
London's Jazz Cafe. He then promptly took off to Brazil where
he has been getting very busy in the favellas with his laptop
and a microphone. The stage is set for the Edinburgh debut of
these fresh live Brazil-electro fusion grooves from Glasgow's
