Catch a glimpse of the rebellious, dissident age of cabaret: the
glamour of Berlin, the intimacy of Paris and the riotous atmosphere of
a Chicago speakeasy. Welcome to The Vaudeville Cabaret Club, part
supperclub, part show, part dancehall.
Take your table for the main attraction, The Vaudeville Show, and get
ready for an explosive night of circus, burlesque, comedy and music,
served with an abundance of charm, poetry and wit. The world's
creative energies collide at the Fringe, and the wildest acts of the
festival perform on the Vaudeville stage. Be blown away by untamed
gypsy klezmer punk from New York City; gasp with shocked delight at a
high-flying accordion-wielding aerialist; let yourself be seduced by a
daring burlesque diva; be charmed and tricked at sideshows of illusion
and mysterious magic.
Star compere Mikelangelo, infamous baritone accordion-wielding
adventurer of the festival favorites Black Sea Gentlemen, presents a
programme of international and Scottish acts, hidden gems and renowned
artistes from the Fringe and beyond. In our last season, we welcomed
over 100 acts to the Vaudeville Stage including No Fit State Circus,
The Burlesque Hour, Rob Newman, Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls), The
Luminescent Orchestrii, Regina Spektor, Christa Hughes
(Go-Go-Burlesco!), Empress Stah, Dusty Limits, Pluck, Gawk-A-Go-Go,
Joie de Vivre. Many of these special guests are set to return,
alongside brand new discoveries, unseen treasures and delights. (See
www.vaudevillecabaretclub.com for a list of this week's performers.)

BACKGROUND:
The Vaudeville Cabaret Club began in Edinburgh in 2004 in response to
the growing talents of Scottish circus and cabaret performers,
presenting events throughout the year. Returning after a sold-out
debut Fringe run, The Vaudeville Cabaret Club is fast becoming a
Fringe favorite, attracting an exhibitionist, dynamic audience and
glowing reviews. Exclusive Guest Appearances are revealed each night,
the mood is anarchic, and The Management will allow the unexpected to
occur. Leave the ordinary world behind, come in costume or in
disguise...and make sure to arrive early for a stage-side table at
what promises to be this year's most eclectic and outrageous festival
showcase.
