On 5th April, Amplified Playground launches a new weekly live music night at
“Ego”,
one of Edinburgh’s oldest dance halls and the city’s newest live music venue.

Thursday, we will showcase the best up and coming new bands from around the UK

always keeping a flavour of Scotland as we celebrate the country’s best new
talent
and all for the very reasonable price of £5.

Our venue, “EGO” was originally a dancehall in 1918 and still has the look to

it! A glamorous and regal ballroom style main room, with a second room
underneath.
Ego has been established now for over 10 years as a nightclub primarily, and
now,
they are moving into a new era and developing into a much needed live music
venue in
Edinburgh with a 500 capacity.

Each week we bring you 3 bands from around the country and our first night
features
“Figure 5”. Hot from supporting the Fratellis on tour this 5 piece Glasgow band
recently released their debut EP in February and have been described as a cross
between The Strokes, The Stones and The Coral. Supporting them we welcome
