Blurb :: Toddesfrequenz is the new Scottish regular music event of the big fat
noisy
sledgehammer beats and constantly morphing tortured electronics.
Glasgow's clubbing culture and reputation as well as the extremely inspiring
industrial architecture and vibes of the city made the choice for this slaughter
night easy.
Run by two friends and hefty electronic music maniacs - Octahedron and Dan MoNoX
-
Toddesfrequenz is intended to be a regular and on-going (on a monthly basis)
night
during which some of the finest and most radical tunes will be mixed to satisfy
all
the nihilistic creatures.
To even heighten the already intensive experiences, Toddesfrequenz is the event
featuring both - intensely irresistable dancefloor landmines AND the visual
elements
so get prepared for some original stuff being projected too.
Following the launching party, Toddesfrequenz will aim to include a live act
every
month, presenting creativity of the best non-mainstream harsh electronic music
artists.
If you are interested in performing at Toddesfrequenz - please don't hesitate to
contact us for details!

:L: Joining the rising talent pool of Scottish Bands such as Snow Patrol, Belle
&
Sebastian and Travis, The Cinematics are their latest proud addition to the rock
scene. Now residing in the lively city of Glasgow, the band consists of Scott
Rinning (lead vocals/guitar), Ross Bonney (drums), Ramsay Miller (lead guitar)
and
Adam Goemans (bass guitar). Claiming influences from The Clash and Talking
Heads,
this foursome grew up together in the quiet highlands of Scotland, playing since
their youth and eventually forming The Cinematics in 2003.
At first listen, The Cinematics sound like a strange mixture of The Killers and
The
Cure with a hint of Interpol. The fact that they can be compared to these
enormously
popular groups makes them instantly acceptable to any electro-pop leech or
progressive rock audiophile.
The band have been making a name for themselves in supporting acts such as
Editors,
Mute Math, We Are Scientists, Snow Patrol and The Bravery.
Enjoying success in the USA and continental Europe, as well as the United
Kingdom,
with their singles "Chase" and "Break", The Cinematics' latest single, "Keep
Forgetting", was released in February 2007. Their long-awaited debut album A
Strange
Education was produced by Stephen Hague (New Order, Blur, Pet Shop Boys), and
released on March 6, 2007.

DFRNT TROUBLE
FRI 26TH OCTOBER : LATE LIVE DOUBLE BILL!
MOTHER AND THE ADDICTS (CHEMIKAL UNDERGROUND) - LIVE
DAMN SHAMES (GOLDEN EAGLE/XL) - LIVE
CHRIS (FAST)
TROUBLE DJs
£7/£5 concs
11pm-3am
With the Trouble DJs & MC Ratty B still buoyant from their Saturday evening spot
in
the main tent at last month’s Bestival, where they wowed a crowd of more than
two
thousand people between live sets by Candie Payne and Robyn and then again
before
buzz Brazilians Bonde Do Role, they host the return of Trouble's sister-night,
Dfrnt
Trouble at Edinburgh’s legendary Caves.
Headlining are Mother And The Addicts (Chemikal Underground), whose ace second
album
Science Fiction Illustrated came out to universal critical acclaim in August and
sets the dance floor ablaze (see quotes and biog below), and Damn Shames, three
impeccably degenerate and impossibly well read 19-year olds from Edinburgh.
With their debut single Dancing In The Aisles, Damn Shames have created one of
the
art-punk singles of the year - think The Cribs if they were obsessed with
Justice
and dripping with early Beastie Boys ‘tood. Already a Steve Lamacq favourite and
just signed to London label XL (home of The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, The White
Stripes, MIA, Devendra Banhart, Dizzee Rascal and Jack Penate), these kids have
a
very bright future ahead of them.
Mother And The Addicts stop in at Dfrnt Trouble on a whirlwind tour of happening
spots across the nation, while the Damn Shames make a less stressed trek to the
venue.
DJ support from Fast club’s Chris, who released Dancing in The Aisles on his
fledgling Golden Eagle label before A&Rs in London recognized the band’s massive
potential, plus hosts the Trouble DJs.
And, remember, this night’s Dfrnt, so expect a play-list more inclined to
rockabilly, new wave, post-punk and new electronic shapes yet with enough
surprises
to remind you that you just got in to Trouble!
