:L: Joining the rising talent pool of Scottish Bands such as Snow Patrol, Belle
&
Sebastian and Travis, The Cinematics are their latest proud addition to the rock
scene. Now residing in the lively city of Glasgow, the band consists of Scott
Rinning (lead vocals/guitar), Ross Bonney (drums), Ramsay Miller (lead guitar)
and
Adam Goemans (bass guitar). Claiming influences from The Clash and Talking
Heads,
this foursome grew up together in the quiet highlands of Scotland, playing since
their youth and eventually forming The Cinematics in 2003.

At first listen, The Cinematics sound like a strange mixture of The Killers and
The
Cure with a hint of Interpol. The fact that they can be compared to these
enormously
popular groups makes them instantly acceptable to any electro-pop leech or
progressive rock audiophile.

The band have been making a name for themselves in supporting acts such as
Editors,
Mute Math, We Are Scientists, Snow Patrol and The Bravery.

Enjoying success in the USA and continental Europe, as well as the United
Kingdom,
with their singles "Chase" and "Break", The Cinematics' latest single, "Keep
Forgetting", was released in February 2007. Their long-awaited debut album A
Strange
Education was produced by Stephen Hague (New Order, Blur, Pet Shop Boys), and
released on March 6, 2007.

Blurb :: Fairy Tale Forest is an exhibition based on Scottish folklore and fairy
tales, displayed in the depths and darkness of the woods. A variety of artwork
inspired by stories and tales as well as poetry and ballads can be explored for
one
evening under the open nights sky. The exhibition will be accompanied by spoken
word, with several storytellers introducing the themes and legends represented
in
the artwork. The event invites along anyone, whether young or old, who is
intrigued
by the mysteries of folklore and tales, interpreted by visual arists and by
storytelling. Important information: The exhibition is taking place on the
footpath
of the Hermitage Woodland & begins close to the Hermitage Vistor’s Centre. The
entrance is easily accessable by walking from Braid Road and will be
sign-posted. We
advise visitors to bring along a torch/glowsticks in order to navigate your way
around. The storytelling will start at 5pm, when the exhibition opens & will
continue on the hour. A map will be added on this website soon. Andy will be
doing
something here :: worth the day out bring wet weather gear, umbrellas,
sandwiches,
torch, glowsticks and grown-ups - a flask of grog ;-)
