This awesome Edinburgh trio and Fish Fry favourites return after last month's EP
launch to party with their fusion of acid jazz, funk-rock and reggae. They have
performed at Ronnie Scott's jazz club and London's Kashmir Klub as KT Tunstall's
backing band (They also sang backing vocals on her Mercury nominated album 'Eye
to
the Telescope').

On Stage: Sorenson Soul Workout
Drummer and soul-jazz supremo Adam Sorenson fronts this band made up of great
touring musicians. Adam lives in the USA now and when he comes to Scotland to
stay
we always try and book this band. He has played with Blue Note Records legend
Melvin Sparks and this boogaloo and funk outfit have performed at the Glasgow
Jazz
Festival in 2006 and have now become one of our favourite Fish Fry bands.

Samba Sene was born in Senegal but moved to Scotland seven years ago. He writes
his
own material and sings in French, English and his native Wolof. His style is
strongly influenced by the jazzy grooves of Senegal and particularly by
musicians
like Baaba Maal (whom he played with before leaving Senegal) and Salif Keita. He
has
a broad appeal, from world music fans to audiences that just want to dance to
the
beats.

This act combine jazz, funk, electro, broken beat, soul and rock in a heady
cocktail, featuring 'Prince' Phil McBride (bass), John-Henry (percussion &
drums)
and the exuberant Nikki Kent (vox). Not only does Nikki have one serious set of
lungs on her, she's also, to quote Dimitri From Paris, 'a very stylish girl'
with an
effervescent personality and a no-shrinking-violet performance mentality to
boot...
Last month they ripped the place apart this is about as funky as Edinburgh gets!

go down very well. Their demos bring together influences from new artists such
as
Nicola Conte and 4 Hero with classic examples such as Marvin Gaye and Prince.

Adelaide Fringe.

The Guide for the Adelaide Fringe 2008 will be launched on 9 January 2008 and

Over 4000 artists will be taking part in the program which includes cabaret,
comedy,
dance, events, film, music, theatre, writing and visual arts. It all kicks off
