Hi there,
Reminder: Whilst I [Eric Roberts] am on working trip to the French Alps for the winter, Fish Fry is hosted by resident DJ Astroboy (Departure Lounge / Four Corners) with monthly guests Jiminez (Departure Lounge / Four Corners) and ABC Sam (Assembly).
If you are interested in seeing what I [Eric Roberts] have been up to in France please feel free to have a look at my photos on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=12991&l=c2e41&id=500332800

On Stage: Underling
Fresh from supporting acts like EL-P, DJ Vadim and Fingathing, this hip hop jam band have reggae style keys, loose funky guitar, strong drumming and double bass with scratching from a DJ called the Asthmatic Astronaut. The MC has a unique flow that brings a flash of inspiring originality to the stage.
"Homegrown hip hop is a growing phenomenon and Underling find themselves at
the front of the pack." The List

On Stage: Diwan
Samba Sene was born in Senegal but moved to Scotland seven years ago. He writes his own material
and sings in French, English and his native Wolof. His style is strongly influenced by the jazzy grooves of Senegal and particularly by musicians like Baaba Maal (whom he played with before leaving Senegal ) and Salif Keita. He has a broad appeal, from world music fans to audiences that just want to dance to the beats.
Sat 16th Feb 2008
On Stage: Digital Jones + DJs Erik d'Viking & Astroboy
This act combine jazz, funk, electro, broken beat, soul and rock in a heady cocktail, featuring 'Prince' Phil McBride (bass), John-Henry (percussion & drums) and the exuberant Nikki Kent (vox). Not only does Nikki have one serious set of lungs on her, she's also, to quote Dimitri From Paris, 'a very stylish girl' with an effervescent personality and a no-shrinking-violet performance mentality to boot... Last month they ripped the place apart this is about as funky as Edinburgh gets!

On Stage: Gecko 3
This awesome Edinburgh trio and Fish Fry favourites return after last month's EP launch to party with their fusion of acid jazz, funk-rock and reggae. They have performed at Ronnie Scott's jazz club and London 's Kashmir Klub as KT Tunstall's backing band (They also
sang backing vocals on her Mercury nominated album 'Eye to the Telescope').
"The Edinburgh-based band led by singer / guitarist Marty Philip are clever - and they know it" Daily Record
