Hey Everyone!

Not long left until the Beltane Fire Festival 2009!

The next BFS event will be our family-friendly, day-time, outdoor
gathering to celebrate the Summer Solstice in late June.  I will be in
touch with you after Beltane to ask you for all of your ideas and help!

However; in the meanwhile our society is growing...

The purpose of this mailing list is to keep all of you informed and
up-to-date about official Beltane Fire Society events, volunteer
requirements, and important news.
E.g. Beltane Open Meeting, Lughnasadh festival, Stewarding call-out.

Some of you have never received an Announcements email before.  If so that
was because you were not subscribed to the mailing list.  Most of the
current members of the Beltane Fire Society should now be subscribed.

However; if you DO NOT want me to be keep you up-to-date then you can

A message from Rupert, our Green Man...

Please join the BFS discussion email list. Doing so is very simple. Simply
send an empty email to the address below, and follow the instructions in
the reply you get back:-

There are lots of new people in Beltane this year, and many who have been
around for a while that are not on this list. When I was asked to be the
Green Man, I said I would try and do some things to encourage the
strengthening of the sense of community for everyone involved. You cannot
have community without communication, and there are only a very few
opportunities where everyone involved in this years event are all gathered
in one place.

Being a member of the Discussions mailing list will enable you to
communicate with everyone else who is involved directly whenever you need.
You may need help with something crucial to your costume, might need some
volunteers to help make things, carry stuff, have some crazy ideas you
have to tell everyone about, or maybe you just want to invite us all to a
party?  There will also be events around and after the main festival that
you might like to hear about and get involved in making happen, so don't
miss out.

BELTANE FIRE SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP

Since the Beltane Fire Society became a limited company and charity I have
become responsible for collecting & keeping a membership list...

You must be a member to take part in Beltane or Samhuinn!  Anyone who
volunteered to take part at a festival (beginning Samhuinn 2008) will be
included on our membership list.  You will then remain on the list for as
long as you continue to take part in our festivals, plus for three years
after that.

The membership list is kept securely.  Access to personal information on
the list is restricted.

Your details kept on the membership list are:- (1) full name, (2) email
address (or alternative contact detaisl), (3) date of birth, (4) which
festivals and groupx you have taken part in.

Your date of birth allows us to identify you if your email address
changes.  You must also be 18+ to take part at any of our festivals.

This information will be used for volunteer and membership purposes only.
