I went karaoke last night, and I sang Proud Mary, of course, and after I was done, this gentlemen walks up to me named JC Farris Jr. and he told me that he opened for the Ike and Tina Revue back in 67 and 68 all through California and Nevada. I asked him what was it like, and he said that Tina was the nicest person he has ever met, and he also said that Ike was nice to him as well, but horrible to the Ikettes. He said that he was ALWAYS screaming at the Ikettes constantly. He said he didn't witness hardly any incidents with him and Tina, but that Tina was usually always in her dressing room and out of the way when Ike was in his moods. And then he told me one other thing. He told me that he didn't know what drugs were until he met Ike. He said that Ike and Tina would have 2 different dressing rooms, and that he would usually have the dressing room with the other guys in the band. And at EVERY show, there would be a huge mountain of cocaine on the table in his dressing room EVERY city and EVERY dressing room that Ike had. He said that Tina was amazing to work with, and was very sweet and loved company when Ike wasn't in his moods or wasn't around for whatever reason. But Ike was very much in control of everything and was a perfectionist. But he remembers that he use to yell and scream at the Ikettes all the time, but didn't see any instances with Tina. But I am sure the bad things occurred in private or away from people. Who knows. Just thought that was an interested story.
