Joe,
Wanted to let you know that Caroline will not be at practice tomorrow night and
on Sunday, May 3. We will be at my godson's first communion on Sunday morning.
See you soon,
Fiona
Greetings All,
Just a reminder that our upcoming schedule as listed on the calendar IS accurate
- and to be on the safe side, I have included Masses on the calendar as well -
so, to recap:
The Children's Choir WILL sing on Sunday (I normally prefer a break period after
Easter, but was not granted such this year). This is as listed on the calendar.
The Adult Choir will NOT sing on Sunday (again, I prefer a break after Easter,
and since I DO have control over this group's practice schedule, we will have
our break).
I hope the updates made to the calendar will clear up any confusion. Thanks! ~
Joe
Joe,
Could you please clarify if we are singing this Sunday at the 10:45? If we are
available should we plan on singing or do you prefer that we just let it go for
Sunday? Do we have practice on Tuesday, April 21? Calendar is clear.
Thanks,
Alana
Joe- If there is a change in location, could you please send out an email to let
us know. My email address is christine.coleman@.... It is very difficult
keeping up with the many inconsistencies and changes. Thank you. Christine
Sorry I missed last night, likely I will not be there on Sunday. Happy Singing! Joan

Sorry Everyone - I misread my calendar
There is no Children's Choir this evening because there is no mass this weekend
(5 Sundays in a month always throws me off).
Children's Choir will rehearse TUESDAY, MARCH 31.
Sorry for the confusion.

Joe,
Is tonight's practice for BOTH groups (Childrens Group and Parish Choir)like
your message says?
The calender says just the Parish Choir rehearsal is tonight.
The calender also says next week 3/31/09 as the next Childrens Group rehearsal.
Or is the calender wrong?
Please let me know.
Thank you,
Tim Coleman

Thanks Alana; I forwarded it to Maureen at work. The new grandparents will enjoy the reprieve, although I wish we were able to practice.

Greetings All,
I am very sorry to have to give such late notice, but I have an important doctor's appointment this afternoon that just got moved back. I really don't want to put it off, due to last week's accident and the nature of this appointment, so I am going to have to cancel this week's Children's Choir rehearsal.
We will still meet for Mass on Sunday, and will sing songs the children are familiar with.

Joe,
Hoping you’ve been able to sort all of this out and that you are up and around. Just wanted to let you know that I will not be at Mass this Sunday. Parenting responsibilities beckon! Hopefully will see you next week.

Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to cancel tonight's rehearsal.
There's still just a little too much for me to do in regards to
finding a car and taking care of insurance issues.
Thank you all again for your prayers and support. : )
Regarding this week's song list - please review on your own your
parts for "With You By My Side" and "Turn to the Living God".
We will actucally sing the "Celtic Alleluia" as the Recessional this
week, out of Spirit and Song (#45). Look over the verses, and we'll
run them for rhythm on Sunday.
After the recessional, we will head out to the Holy Grill (copyright
OLPH Parish) and set ablaze last year's Palms as we sing "Ashes".
Just take a quick look at it, since we usually only sing it once or
twice a year.

We just got home, and i got the dozens of emails from everyone telling everything, but most importantly that you are ok. Glad your guardian angel was there.
First off, I am healthy and well - no broken bones, no major physical impairments of any kind. My guardian angel put in 110 percent on this one.
I apologize for not contacting anyone quickly - My phone was riding shotgun with me in the car, and all of your numbers are saved there - so any and all are welcome to email me your numbers and I will give you a call back as soon as I can get to a phone. My cell phone was my only phone.
Fr. John told me about how you got together and sang at Mass this week, and that made me feel better than any well-wishes ever could (however - the well wishes are still very much appreciated - keep 'em coming). I've always told my colleagues that I jusge my success as a leader by how well I think the group could do without me. If I've done my job properly, then our group will know what to do, and find a way to get by in my absence. I wasn't there to hear it - but I know it sounded great. You guys always do.
In regards to the accident - I am really not positive as to the cause of the accident. I remember nothing about 5 minutes up to the accident, EVERYTHING during the accident, and things are a bit fuzzy for about a half hour after the accident. What I do know is that wearing my seatbelt saved my life, so take that as the lesson of the day. Also, being upside-down in a moving vehicle is unpleasant.
I have to say a special thank you to Anna Vrabel, because apparently I grabbed the cell phone of the first person that came to check on me, 411ed numbers until I got someone, and asked her to go let Fr. John know I wasn't coming, which she went and did, so thank you very much Anna.
I am very lucky, and very blessed to be unhurt in any significant way, and I thank all of you for your prayers and support. I'm not really sure exactly when we'll have practice this week, as Tuesday might be too early for me to get a new car or secure a rental, but we will rehearse at some point this week, and we can all sit down and have a laugh.
I'm lucky and blessed to have such good friends as the members of this fine Parish Choir, and the members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish are lucky to have this talented and dedicated group to minister to them. As your friend and director I'm proud of you.
Dear Joe,
So glad to hear that you are okay. Please stop giving that guardian angel so much overtime! Yes, the choir went on without you being there in body but knowing you were there in all of our thoughts and hearts. Please call if there is anything I can do to help. Here’s to a speedy recovery!

Diana and I were away this weekend (one of the couples running a Living in Love Weekend for married couples) at St. Thomas of Villanova. We just saw the emails. Thank God - and your guardian Angel - you're OK. Cars can always be replaced. Let's face it - a pretty good time to buy a car! Seriously, get some rest and we'll see you when you're back later in the week.
PS - Colin was worried about you, and he'll be very happy to know you're OK. We'll tell him about the seat belt too!

Thanks so much for sending your note.
I've been praying since I saw Kearney's note last night, and am
thrilled to hear that you are ok. Even though it looked like they
were keeping you overnight at the hospital and we knew you wouldn't make
it to mass, we all felt we needed to be there anyway. I don't think
any of us ever expected to do the mass a capella, but I think we all thought
in some way that it would help.
You are indeed blessed and have a legion
of angels watching over you. God must have great plans for you!
Never forget that we are there for you-
any time you need us. Please let me know if there is anything at
all that I can do to help, and make the time to take care of yourself.
My cell and work numbers are below, and my home number is 908-696-0715.
Hope to see you soon.

We have been praying since we got Kearney's email last night. Maureen called Alana this morning to get an update. I am glad you are giving your guardian angel credit; they are an under-rated species.
We will be home tomorrow evening; please call if you need anything...even if it's just a friendly ear to listen to you. Thank God you're OK. Maureen's cell phone: 908-229-0593 Mine: 908-507-3407 Home: 908-204-9126
Memory loss for any reason is an interesting phenomenon, love to chat about it.
Maureen sends you kisses; I'll just include a hug!
God bless! Chris

We are all SO glad to hear you are in tact
and that you walked away from what sounds like a pretty serious accident. Everyone
was and remains concerned about you and we are all praying that you have had
your share of bad luck on the road. Please let me know if there is any way I
can help you out or if there is anything you need. Anna ran down to the church
and then called me and once I got home I tried to email you and call you…I
guess the car flipped thing in my email got everyone’s attention…the
phone started ringing and by about 9 we had figured out that you were in the
hospital. We all just sort of arrived for 10:45 Mass and there was a sort of
communal decision to wing it!
Mass actually went well. We did everything
a cappella and for the most part, it sounded really good. Leo was great and
Deirdre showed off her piano playing skills on the offeratory hymn! (she had
NEVER played in public befored) The funny thing was that the congregation
really SANG and it was nice to have them participate in a way we don’t
usually experience. Father Bennett was sure we could pull it off, and we did!
It is only a pity that you and Father John weren’t there to hear us rise
to the occasion! We even did Servant’s Song for a meditation! You would
have been proud of us!!!
You are in our prayers….My phone

I'm glad to hear that you had extra angelic protection -- I've had a few close calls myself over the years and know the feeling. We look forward to seeing you back on your feet and leading us at the piano.
If you don't already know by now, we sing because we love to, and so we (well, at least I) show up because Mass is just so much more enjoyable when we are surrounded by music and voices of friends. The whole time I was singing today, I heard you playing in the background -- in my head the sound was quite clear. The congregation was incredibly supportive today - THEY SANG!!! mouths were moving and heads were bobbing, and they were following along in the hymnal. And unlike most other masses, most did NOT follow the priest out the church... most hung around until we finished the closing hymn.
I think we really connected with the congregation today, and that made it a very special Mass for us. Their support wasn't just for the Choir; their support was for the Choir's absent leader. And I'm sure more than a few prayed extra hard that you'd return soon so they would not have to sit through another a cappella Mass.
Rest up; focus on yourself for at least a few days!
Leo.

done my job properly, then our group will know what to do, and find a
way to get by in my absence. I wasn't there to hear it - but I know
it sounded great. You guys always do.
In regards to the accident - I am really not positive as to the cause
of the accident. I remember nothing about 5 minutes up to the
accident, EVERYTHING during the accident, and things are a bit fuzzy
for about a half hour after the accident. What I do know is that
wearing my seatbelt saved my life, so take that as the lesson of the
day. Also, being upside-down in a moving vehicle is unpleasant.
I have to say a special thank you to Anna Vrabel, because apparently
I grabbed the cell phone of the first person that came to check on
me, 411ed numbers until I got someone, and asked her to go let Fr.
John know I wasn't coming, which she went and did, so thank you very
much Anna.
I am very lucky, and very blessed to be unhurt in any significant
way, and I thank all of you for your prayers and support. I'm not
really sure exactly when we'll have practice this week, as Tuesday
might be too early for me to get a new car or secure a rental, but we
will rehearse at some point this week, and we can all sit down and
have a laugh.
I'm lucky and blessed to have such good friends as the members of
this fine Parish Choir, and the members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Parish are lucky to have this talented and dedicated group to
minister to them. As your friend and director I'm proud of you.
: )
Have a good evening, and wear your seatbelts.
~ Joe
Here’s hoping and praying for a quick recovery for Joe. Please let us know if there is anything we can do beyond keeping him in our prayers.
Thanks,
Joan
Kearney,
We are at the Cape and I just checked email before heading to bed. What do you know? Obviously, there was an accident. Is Joe hospitalized? Any information other than what was in your previous email? I can't access the Yahoo site, I do not know if there are other emails with information,
Please keep us in the loop and thanks for getting this email out.
We will pray.

Everyone, Based on what we are able to determine, Joe has had a car accident and will not be able to make Mass tomorrow. If you are able to come to 10:45 we may be able to sing, but as it stands, we have no promises. Let's keep Joe in our prayers. All the best, kearney
