Hello. My name is Dean Pidcock and I am a member of
The Parade of the Hills Committee. The Parade of the
Hills is a regional festival held in Nelsonville, Ohio
(approximately 60 miles southeast of Columbus). One
of the events that our festival features is The
Original State of Ohio Old Time Fiddlers' Contest.
The contest will be held in the historic Stuart's
Opera House on the Public Square in Nelsonville on
Friday, August 20th at 6 PM. Our contest is open to
anyone and we frequently draw contestants from
Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and beyond.

Each contestant is allotted six minutes to play three
tunes - a hoedown, a waltz, and a tune of their choice
in the traditional old time style. Prizes are awarded
to the three top scorers of each age category, and
then the 1st Place winners from each group compete to
become The Original State of Ohio Old Time
Fiddlers'Grand Champion.

The three age categories are:
18 and under
19-54
55 and over

Prizes:

1st Place—$400 and a Plaque

2nd Place—$300 and a Medal

3rd Place—$200 and a Medal

The 1st Place Winners in each category then compete to
become The Original State of Ohio Old Time Fiddlers
Grand Champion, and take home $300 and a Plaque.
