Reply | Forward Message #339 of 576 |
Get ready for the festival season, warm up your voice and your ears...with a
great old-time country trio:

What: House Concert

Who: The great Old-time Band, "Waking Up Tillie"

When: Saturday, May 21, 8:00

Where: Home of Curt Cooper and Annie Trimble

Info: 412-343-0498

Old-time Harmony workshop, Saturday, May 21, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Waking Up Tillie consists of Pete Peterson (banjo, guitar), Randy Johnson
(fiddle), and Kellie Allen, (guitar). The band performs old-time music learned
from 78 RPM records of artists of the 1925-41 "Golden Age" of country music, as
well as music from earlier times and some original and contemporary folk
material.

The members of Waking Up Tillie are dedicated old-time musicians and singers,
who bring new energy to the traditional American songs and tunes and give that
old-time feel to contemporary and original material. They have performed and
taught at such festival, concert, and dance venues as the Augusta Heritage
Center, Appalachian String Band Festival (Clifftop), Mountain Laurel Autoharp
Gathering, Clarion Folk College, New England Folk Festival, the Philadelphia
Folk Festival, WPAQ's "Merry-Go-Round," and many other places. Members of Waking
Up Tillie appear on various CDs and have recorded a CD "Down in the Old Home
Town" for the Chubby Dragon label, scheduled for release spring 2005.

For more information on either the house concert or the workshop, reservations,
and directions, reply to this email, or call Curt or Annie at 412-343-0498.

Hope to see you there!

Annie Trimble
