Before I post this to the house concert list, I’m sending this out to all you
banjo aficionados:
We’re delighted to announce that banjo maestro Clarke Buehling is returning to
Pittsburgh for a house concert in Mt. Lebanon, PA, on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30
P.M.
Clarke Buehling is internationally known for old-time banjo and string band
music from jigs to rags. Much of his material is based on his collection of 19th
century banjo, mandolin and violin sheet music- including some that belonged to
Thomas Edison.
Clarke has performed across the U.S. and in Europe, and he was recently the
featured banjoist in a trio performing the works of Stephen Foster at Carnegie
Hall. He is the founder of the American Banjo Fraternity Orchestra, and he has
several of his own recordings. The leader of the premiere concert string band
the Skirtlifters, who have recently returned from a European tour and have just
released their latest album, A Ragtime Episode. See Clarke’s website at

Clarke will also be offering private lessons on the afternoon Sunday, May 20.
