Hi - and a question about Uncle Joe   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1856 of 1992 |
Hi, everyone.

I'm new to the list - just joined up. I live in Raleigh, NC, play hammered
dulcimer, and
particularly love Old-Time.

My question for you all is ---

From what I've found online, the tune "Uncle Joe (Hop High/Light Ladies)" seems
to have
been played mainly in the key of G. Is there any precedent, traditionally, for
playing it in
A? I'm working on a medley of "Mrs. McLeod of Raasay" with "Uncle Joe" with a
fiddler, ahd
she wanted to know if anyone ever played "Uncle Joe" in A.

Thanks.

Rick
