Adam has won some awards for his clawhammer playing in big fiddle
festivals, and many folks comment on how they love his playing. His
playing is somewhat more subtle and delicate than a lot of current "power
house" type players. Maybe his style is just not your cup of
tea. "Melodically weak" can be a concept subject to different people's own
ideas and tastes.

In my opinion it seems he tries to power house it to much and in the meantime misses essential melody notes and the ryhthm seems forced. I hate to sound...

Now on the other hand I just listened to some of Adam's recent recordings and they are COMPLETELY different than the tunes on his CD "Intrigue." Not a bad...

... P.S. I heard that Adam won just first place oldtime banjo at Mt.Airy last week. He'd probably be a good instructor for Augusta, time for some new blood...
