I received this email from our friend Melissa. Her Dad is Fiddler

As some of you may have already heard, my dad fell last week and
broke the ring finger of his left hand. Not the best thing for a
fiddler to break!! He had surgery on the finger today and all went
very well. He said that once the anesthesia wore off his finger
REALLY hurt (well, that's not exactly how he put it ), but he thinks
that should subside some after a few days. The pain medicine works
pretty well and he's hoping to be able to sleep tonight. He should
be out of commission for about 3 months. If all heals as it should
he plans to play his mid-July gig in British Columbia and Seattle
with Earl Scruggs. I will let you know his progress. I know he
would appreciate your thoughts and prayers on his behalf that the
finger will not only heal, but still work just
as well as it did before the break.
